First things first. A special congratulatory shout out to Thomas Binns who demonstrated remarkable determination on the line during individual match play where he made a major come-back from 4-0 to win bronze with a 1 arrow shoot-off! Well done Thomas!

As the winter is well on its way, archers are gearing up for National Field and Indoor season. We would once again like to encourage our youth archers to join in on the fun and new lifetime friendships awaiting you at these competition events. We have a lot of talent and we would love to see you at these comps!

Congratulations to all our archers on showing exceptional determination in truly trying weather conditions in Launceston! Notably, the u16 and u21 competitions were briefly halted due to wind speeds exceeding 60km/h. Although the Field location provided some shelter, the cold was still prevalent. We extend our pride to all participants.

The 720 ranking rounds were shot today and results will be posted after the medal ceremony. Monday is the final day for the competition where our archers will compete in individual matchplay. Good luck archers!

Everyone arrived safe in Lanceston Tasmania and had a wet, cold and windy Official practice session. Although the weather will only get worse over the next few days, they are ready and excited to start the comp tomorrow.
Friday Schedule:
Harsha, Mienke and Theresa starts with their 900 round, equivalent of Short Canberra, while Charlie and Thomas will be shooting the Field Course.

This weekend our archers competed at the State Field Archery Championship at the stunning Illawarra archery Club. Saturday weather was perfect and Sunday only had a few drops of rain. Thanks Illawarra Archers, what a great event!

Youth Archers' Success at Coast Archers Competition. We congratulate Thomas Binns and Mienke Botes on their medal achievements in the recent Coast Archers Youth competition, which enjoyed good weather. Thomas Binns achieved 1st place in the U14 male recurve, and Mienke Botes secured 3rd place in the U16 female recurve. Participation in competitions is encouraged for our youth archers to foster camaraderie and competitive excellence. Armidale Archery Club is hosting a Double Field QRE:

• 25th April – Unmarked Field
• 26th April – Marked Field

Great opportunity to shoot two QRE rounds over one weekend and secure those qualifying scores.

Congratulations to our Northern Youth Archers who competed at the first Youth tournament for 2026. This one was held at SOPA with combined divisions for each bow type. They all shot 90 arrows at 30m in the ranking round, and then did a matchplay with a twist.
