This is terrible advice & not the way to think about food & exercise.

Movement is a celebration of what your body is capable of & an opportunity to explore what makes you feel good.

A diet heavy in unprocessed whole foods that you mostly prepare yourself is the goal. BUT if that diet has got you into a position where you’re stressed about chocolate at Easter you might need a re-think.

There’s a big difference between muscle discomfort & joint pain.

Understanding the difference matters, particularly:
- if you haven’t trained for a while
- are new to strength training
- dealing with old niggles
- are trying to drop a bit of weight

Pushing through joint pain can often make things worse, whilst stopping all together won’t solve things most of the time.

At GSD we start all our clients with 4x 1-1 sessions with a coach:
We build your confidence with movement patterns
We address any niggles with strategies in your programming ongoing
We educate you on “good” & bad pain.

Our small groups & customised programs allow us to work closely with you to stay on top of incidental aches & pains that may arise from time to time outside of the gym to keep you moving forward.

If every gym session hurts, or that’s your experience in the gym, it might be time to reach out to us. 💙🧡
