Train Your Core Like the PGA Pros
Core training is often very misunderstood with most golfers thinking crunches and sit ups will do the work.
Those actions only really move the spine in one direction, whereas the golf swing is a multidimensional movement.
With that in mind, it’s critical you train the core to move and stabilise the spine on all directions.
Here are some of the rules I live by when programming for the core
1. Move in all planes
2. Vary the types of contractions; static and dynamic
3. Use external load, not just bodyweight
4. Don’t be afraid to go to failure
5. It doesn’t have to be complex, master the basics

Swing sequence drills seem to be a bit taboo for some GolfFit coaches, but I love to see it.
I think they have their place within a session.
They shouldn’t form the basis of the session but certainly can be added to fill in rest periods.

I hate tests.
I remember back in Year 8, I studied so hard for an English writing exam and still managed to get 45%.
It rocked me.
After putting in this effort to study and prepare, and then fail, what’s the point of trying again if I get the same result?
But, it wasn’t until after speaking to the teacher about my marks, I didn’t fail because of what I studied, I failed because of the quality of my writing.
I was more of a maths and science kinda guy, so writing essays with lots of details and description was always a struggle for me.
So now you can see why I hate tests and might have a little bit of fear of failure in the brain 🧠

Fear of failure is a crippling feeling.
