PWDA appeared before the Joint Select Committee reviewing the operations of the NSW Reconstruction Authority regarding the NSW East Coast severe weather from May 2025.

PWDA raised issues at the inquiry relating to:
1️⃣ the accessibility of evacuation centres,
2️⃣ access to energy sources required to shelter in place and
3️⃣ accessible evacuations (e.g. ensuring accessible transport is available for evacuation).

We urgently need emergency evacuation plans that properly provide for the needs of people with disability who cannot drive, have no accessible public transport, or who are unable to evacuate without assistance.
