Spain’s Luis de la Fuente has won the Ballon d’Or Men’s Coach of the Year award after leading his national team to the World Cup title.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly put no-objection certificates (NOCs) for several Pakistani cricketers on hold ahead of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2026, raising uncertainty over their participation in the tournament.

According to ESPNcricinfo, the PCB has allegedly demanded around $25,000 per player to issue NOCs for the competition. Several players who had previously received permission were reportedly informed that their approvals had been suspended. However, the reported fee has not been independently verified, and no formal written demand has been confirmed.

The eight-team Nepal Premier League is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from October 26 to November 21. Pakistani stars including Sahibzada Farhan, Haider Ali, Hunain Shah, Hussain Talat, Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali and Usama Mir are among those expected to participate. Some players have already arrived in Nepal, while others have delayed their travel plans due to the uncertainty.

Pakistan have officially announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2026, as the defending champions prepare to retain their continental title in Oman from November 5 to 14.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Farhan Yousuf as captain of the young squad, which is scheduled to depart from Karachi on October 29. Pakistan have been placed in Group A alongside arch-rivals India, Nepal, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), setting up an exciting contest between some of Asia’s most promising young cricketers.

The squad features talented wicketkeeper-batters Abdul Qadir and Hamza Zahoor, alongside batters Usman Khan, Hayam Khan, Jahangir Bilal, and Huzaifa Ahsan. All-rounders Ahmed Hussain and Hasnain Abbas Dar will provide balance, while the pace attack includes Abdul Subhan, Mohammad Seyam, Ali Raza, and Rizwanullah. Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has made history by winning the Men’s Young Talent of the Year award for the third consecutive time at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony in London.
