We’re excited to welcome Professor Estagiário Diego from Centro de Cultura Canzuá Capoeira Centro de Cultura Canzuá Capoeira - Austrália Sydney to the 11th Capoeira Senzala Festival in Canberra! 🎉

🌀 Diego began his Capoeira journey at just 14 years old in Santiago, Chile. Captivated by the rhythm, movement, and spirit of Capoeira, he knew from the beginning that this was the art form he had always been searching for.

🎓 Guided by Contramestre Eduardo, a student of Mestre Bocão, Diego has dedicated many years to studying Capoeira through the lens of Canzuá tradition. His commitment took him to Brazil on three occasions — including twice for the Capoeira Gerais Mundial in Minas Gerais, where he received his Instructor belt in 2015. In 2018, he was awarded the title Professor Estagiário in Chile, in the presence of Mestre Bocão and Mestre Lua Rasta.

🦘 In 2018, Diego moved to Sydney, Australia, following the invitation and connection to Contramestre Neguinho, continuing the lineage and tradition that shaped his Capoeira identity.

💪🏽 Over the past four years, Diego has led the Canzuá Sydney group, building a tight-knit community and carrying forward the teachings and legacy of his Mestre. He is known for his technical strength, musicality, and deep respect for Capoeira’s roots.

🌀 He also hosts Canzuá’s monthly Roda in Sydney, creating a vital space for connection, learning, and celebration — helping keep the Capoeira flame alive in Australia.
