At Thrive Dance we begin every class with a focus exercise, in order for students to become present in the classroom environment. We believe this allows our students to get the most out of class. At the conclusion of each lesson we finish with 'Thrive Time'. This involves each student refelcting on the class just taken and recognising the new skills they have aquired. This leads into a 5 minute cool down in which student's have the opportunity to leave class feeling calm and balanced for the rest of their day or evening. At Thrive Dance we focus heavily on ballet and contemporary, which form the basis of all dance styles. We aim to develop technical and versatile dancers providing students with the skills they need in order to adapt to any style of movement. There is a strong focus on strength and technique which helps to create knowledgable dancers. This is important as it means they have a strong understanding of how to prevent injury and prolong their dancing careers. We also support our dancers towards tertiary education if they wish to further develop the dance skills they have accumulated at Thrive Dance. Our industry professional teachers nurture students who practice dance as a hobby however are also able to push students wanting to further dance as a career. At Thrive Dance we believe having a focused classroom is of utmost importance. This is why we have created 'Performance Week' which occurs at the end of each term. Parent's and friends are invited to watch the last class of term allowing students to set achievable long and short term goals - this creates regular performance opportunities which assists in further improvement.
