The Gold Coast Champions Cup is an initiative of the Mudgeeraba Soccer Club. The tournament commenced in 1996 with goal of offering the youth of Mudgeeraba an opportunity to advance their football skills while simultaneously developing cultural understanding, respect and friendship through sport. The tournament embodies the spirit of the Mudgeeraba Soccer Club motto:

Big thank you to Cr. Tozer for coming down today and celebrating our 25th birthday! While we weren’t able to have the big birthday we were hoping for due to COVID, our next years cup is already shaping up to be the biggest cup yet! Registrations have just opened so secure your spot for next year now!
Great to get down to Mudgeeraba Soccer Club today for the KPI Sports Gold Coast Champions Cup. Over 40 teams from around SEQ are competing for titles in their age groups. Over 100 teams could not travel due to border restrictions. Frustrating for many.
However, the show must go on!
I watched the Under 12’s final where the Logan Lightning FC took down Brisbane City 3-2 in extra time. It was a tops game to watch. Many of the teams stayed on the Gold Coast during the week-long tournament, supporting our local economy during this difficult tourism season.
This year was the 25th year of the tournament and while the COVID issues stymied some of those celebrations this year, next year is already shaping up to be awesome! Big thanks to Jeff Kemp for his time and energy to put the event together, and to Jonathon and Jacqueline from MSC for their club’s support and hospitality.
