🏏 YOU SPOKE, WE LISTENED — 2026 PLAYER FEEDBACK

Great cricket, good people, and a clear message that you want more of it in 2027.

That was the strongest theme from our 2026 UPRO Tamworth Premier Indoor Series feedback. There was plenty to be proud of, along with practical suggestions to make next year better.

Survey responses increased by 94% compared with 2025, with every team represented. Thank you to the players, officials and support personnel who shared their honest views.

🟢 GREEN — WHAT WORKED

🟢 Overall tournament experience averaged approximately 4.6 out of 5 in both 2025 and 2026.

🟢 97% rated the 2026 tournament organisation as good or excellent.

🟢 100% rated the atmosphere and sportsmanship as good or excellent.

🟢 94% rated the tournament as good or excellent value.

🟢 Every respondent said they would definitely or probably return and recommend the tournament to others.

🟢 BUILDING ON LAST YEAR

🟢 Competition quality — stronger opposition was a recurring request in 2025. This year, the standard and competitiveness of the cricket were regularly named as highlights.

🟢 Match scheduling — last year’s feedback highlighted the spacing of games. This year, 94% rated scheduling as good or excellent, although some gaps between finals still need attention.

🟢 Umpiring — last year’s comments raised concerns about consistency and signalling. Feedback was more positive this year, with 88% rating officiating as good or excellent.

The surveys used different rating scales, so these are broad comparisons rather than exact year-on-year measurements.

🟠 AMBER — WHERE WE CAN IMPROVE

🟠 Clearer explanations of the finals structure and how teams progress.

🟠 Better warm-up opportunities and a review of gaps between finals.

🟠 Improved livestream sound, building on the positively rated scoring and live-results service.

🟠 A review of the presentation function’s timing, location, catering and awards, following mixed feedback.

🟠 Continued attention to café choices and pricing, while recognising that most respondents rated the food and service positively.

🔴 RED — OUR MAIN PRIORITY: MORE CRICKET

🔴 Explore more matches before finals, giving travelling teams and larger squads more playing opportunities.

🔴 Consider additional teams, with better-balanced pools and a clearly explained finals format.

🔴 Explore a three-day tournament from Friday to Sunday—79% of respondents either preferred this format or had no preference.

We also received other individual comments and suggestions beyond those summarised here. We'll review these as part of our planning and make practical improvements wherever we can.

These are planning priorities, not confirmed changes. We need to balance player preferences with court capacity, costs and a workable schedule.

The direction is clear: keep the organisation, atmosphere and sportsmanship people valued, and provide more opportunities to play.

Thank you to every player, official, staff member, supporter and sponsor who helped make the tournament possible. We’re proud of what we’ve built together and grateful for the feedback that will help us improve it for 2027.

It was first versus second in Tuesday A Grade, and Punjab Lions produced a strong all-round performance to defeat Stumped & Confused A by 33 runs.

Stumped & Confused opened with a 28-run partnership, with Daniel Bryant making 27 runs in an outstanding individual batting effort.

Punjab then turned the pressure up through the middle of the innings. The third partnership was restricted to -4, before Stumped fought back strongly in the final partnership to add 38 and finish on 77.

Benjamin Cleghorn was excellent with 25 runs, while Ryley Delforce endured a tough night with the bat but responded with the ball, taking a wicket.

Bryant was also outstanding defensively, finishing with 3 wickets while conceding 0 runs and earning match MVP recognition.

🦁 Lions deliver across the lineup
Punjab Lions were impressive because the contribution came right through the eight-player side.

Pulkit Gupta – 16 runs | 1 wicket
Combined with Richard O’Halloran for a match-defining 43-run opening partnership.

Richard O’Halloran – 27 runs | 2 wickets for 9 runs
The Lions' leading run scorer and part of the best partnership of the match.

Darren Hammod – 11 runs | 4 wickets for -9 runs
A remarkable bowling performance and deservedly named Best Bowler.

Dave Olrich – 16 runs | 2 wickets for 4 runs
A strong all-round contribution in the Lions' victory.

Dinesh Goyal – 15 runs | 4 wickets for just 1 run
Another huge all-round performance, causing plenty of damage with the ball.

Chris Skilton – 8 runs | 1 wicket for 11 runs
Played his role in a 23-run third partnership and contributed with the ball.

Mitch Forrester – 2 runs
Combined with David Palmer in the final pair as Punjab protected and extended their advantage.

David Palmer – 15 runs | 1 wicket for 17 runs
A valuable contribution at the back end of the innings to help Punjab reach 110.

Redbacks A produced a very complete performance to defeat Saiyans by 38 runs, building an imposing total of 136 before holding Saiyans to 98.
Saiyans won the toss and elected to bowl, but Redbacks settled quickly and built their innings consistently across all four partnerships.

Rory MacRae and Devon Hamley opened with 20 runs, setting a solid platform before Jordan Lewington and Chris Dobson took control of the innings with a superb 50-run partnership.
Lewington led the way with 30 runs, while Dobson added 20, giving Redbacks their biggest partnership of the match.
The momentum continued through the middle of the innings, with Don Lewington and Toby Ireland combining for 32 runs, both contributing 16 each.

Redbacks then finished strongly through Dave MacRae and Dean Thompson, who added another 34 runs, with both players scoring 17, taking the final total to 136.
Saiyans showed plenty of fight in reply.

Their strongest period came through Josh Frost and Jamie, who combined for an excellent 40-run partnership. Frost top-scored for Saiyans with 26 runs, while Jamie added 14.
Adam Zivkovic also produced a strong individual effort with 22 runs, while Mark Stephens contributed 18 late in the innings.
Despite those efforts, Redbacks had built enough pressure and scoreboard advantage to stay in control and close out the match comfortably.
