The gathering at Tingha at GVF was another awesome weekend of dirt road riding and meeting like minded fellas, and ladies, to talk bikes, rides and all things adventure riding.
Riders were from all over, including Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Ivanhoe, Townsville, and Coffs Harbour, and everywhere in between.
Some major prizes were won, including a trip to the Himalayas, an adventure ride in New Zealand, and an Australian tour of choice. Additional prizes were given, and a lucky Tamworth rider received one of them.
Camping, good meals at GVF, music, campfires and a few beverages kept us entertained each night and the days were rides, pub lunches and some programmed activities by the promoters.

A great day riding just North of Tamworth in Northern NSW, 315km covered. We travelled along Halls Creek Road towards Bendemeer, we then followed the Airlie Stock Route all the way to Kingstown. It was a definite challenge! The stock route was in really bad condition with lots of wash outs, ruts, water / slush holes and soft sand. It was a matter of picking a good line and committing to the decision. Most of this section was done in 1st or 2nd gear. Marc got his VStrom bogged, my Africa had a little lay down but we managed to recover both bikes without incident.
It was an excellent run from Kingstown to Barraba along the Warrabah Road. After lunch we stopped for a photo at the Barraba Silo, we then rode along Crow Mountain Road, always a good run, into Manilla then back to Tamworth.

A top weekend to dust off the camping gear and explore the Barrington area.
The bikes loaded with camp gear all travelled well and makes you want to keep going, a weekend just isn’t long enough!
9 riders, a great turnout, thanks for coming along. It was good to see other Tamworth riders over at the Gloucester Motorcycle Expo as well.

A great turnout today, 15 riders!
It was good to have more first time riders with the TAR Group and it was also good to catch up with the regulars.
About 180km ride, a good lunch and a cleansing ale, a great way to spend a Sunday.

Another great weekend at the Adventure Rider Northern Congregation. 450km covered and some roads for the first time, so many places to discover! At the event, youngest rider was 19, oldest was 78 and the furtherest travelled was 1500km from Cairns.
