A massive thank you to Ty King-Wall , Royal New Zealand Ballet , and the remarkable but also incredibly tenacious Sophie Emery for making this trip happen. ❀️

It was a big couple of days for the men of the company, as I took them through the next 12 weeks of Strength & Conditioning programming in just two days.πŸ‹πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ»

Thank you to each and every one of you for your attention, thoughtful questions, and commitment. It was a huge amount of information to take in over such a short period, and your engagement throughout was fantastic.πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Kihiro Kusukami Laurynas Vejalis zaiquiiri Dane Head brandenreiners Timothy Ching Josh Douglas Ethan Jake Gisby Callahan Laird Padraic Lum Angus O’Connell and Jordan Sawtell awesome work πŸ‹πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ•ΊπŸΌ

Now it’s time to put it all into action and show New Zealand audiences the work you’ve done behind the scenes to deliver performances they’ll never forget.

Addressing a question from my last post: Do the female dancers enjoy Strength & Conditioning?

I think this training footage with the women of Queensland Ballet gives a pretty clear picture. 🎬

Beyond the energy you see here, the numbers tell the real story:
πŸ“Š 735 total individual gym sessions coached at QB last year.
πŸ“Š 66% attended by women of the company.

To get buy-in to Strength and Conditioning, the process must be something they actually look forward to.
When dancers see S&C as a tool for improved performance and resilience and have fun doing it - compliance is never an issue. πŸ“ˆπŸ’ͺ

Parity Is The Pointe 06/12/2025

Currently, Queensland Ballet receives the least federal funding of all major Australian dance companies and the Queensland Ballet Academy receives no federal funding at all.
As a result, Queensland Ballet is shrinking. This year 27 jobs were lost from our beloved
company, including eight dancers, and dancers' salaries have fallen 6.8% behind CPI since 2020. Multiple Company Artists are now relying on their parents to supplement their income.
All Queensland Ballet is asking for is parity. Please sign the petition.
