Tatyoon Football and Netball Club is a community sporting club based in Western Victoria and aligned with the Mininera and District Football League, and the Mininera and District Netball Association. The final match tomorrow of our five (!!!!) teams that we have playing in the Grand Final is our A Grade Netballers!
And what a team they are, skilful, energetic, and full of smart netball brains! They have had an unbelievable season, remaining undefeated all year!

They have met the Ararat Eagles twice during the Home and Away season. In Round 3 Taty won 51:35, then in Round 14 Taty won 47:32. However we know the Eagles play a hard, tough game, so it is sure to be a tight contest tomorrow.

The A Graders have had the amazing Meagan Ward coaching them again this year. Meagan brings the calm to the chaos, the grit to the grind and belief when it matters most! She’s aptly aided by Team Manager Jessica Whiteside. Jess brings passion to the sidelines, and is the heart behind the hustle!

B Grade hit the court tomorrow at 1:45pm for their Grand Final show down with Hawkesdale Macarthur! They have had a great season, with only one loss to date.

These two teams met twice during the Home and Away season, with Taty winning both times. In Round 9 they played, 34-33, then again in Round 16, 41-30!

alice astbury has done an incredible job coaching these ladies, especially as she runs out into her A Grade game straight afterwards! She is exceptionally well backed up with Megan Wood as Team Manager. Megan is so organised and caring, and keeps everything running to a T, behind the scenes!!!

The first of our teams playing in the Grand Final this weekend is our 15&Under Netballers!
The girls played Glen Dunkeld twice during the Home and Away season. In Round 4, Taty took the win, 25:23. Then in Round 15, Glen Dunkeld were the winners, by 1 goal, 21:22. Both very close games! They met again in the Semi Final, with Taty winning again by 2 goals, 22:20.

If these matches are anything to go by, then we are in for a ripper game of netball tomorrow!

A huge thanks to Anais for her continued inspiration and coaching of these girls and to Andrew Marx for his wonderful supporting role as Team Manager!

We thought it was worth drawing attention to these two superstars - Zoe Astbury and Anais . Whilst superb netballers in their own right, Zoe and Anais each volunteered to coach a junior netball team this year, 17& Under and 15&Under respectively.

It should never be underestimated, what it takes to coach a group of juniors. Of course they need to learn skills, which both these ladies have brought to the table in spades, but it also involves working with a group of girls who are at an age where developing confidence, friendship, and teamwork is just as important.

As these two junior netball teams head into their grand finals this weekend it’s easy to see their growth and development since the beginning of the season. Not only are they incredible young netball players, but under the guidance of Zoe and Anais they have developed resilience, respect for each other, and the value of hard work!
We can’t wait to watch them in action on Saturday!

How proud are we of this guy!!!
Mat has been absolutely inspirational this year. He shows an outstanding level of professionalism with his Under 13 boys, while still ensuring that playing footy is fun! The skills he has instilled in the boys has been demonstrated all year not only on the footy field but also how they respect each other and work as a team. And they look up to him with absolute adoration!

And boy can he play footy! Watching Mat take to the oval in the Reserves this year has been watching a masterclass, and his League Best and Fairest is truly deserving.
Congratulations Mat!!!

Wow! What a day!! From the incredible prep and setup work by the board and their helpers, to the fantastic win by our Under 13 boys, the smooth running of the canteen and bbq tent, 6 games of netball and 4 games of football, across 9 different clubs, we are so proud of our amazing club!! Everyone jumped in and helped out when needed, and even the weather wasn’t as bad as we expected!

We would have loved to see the Ressies get up, but they can be incredibly proud of their 2026 season, and we know they’ll do their best to go one better in 2027!

Next weekend we have 5 Taty teams in the Granny!!!

Boy are we proud of our netballers tonight!!!! We have three League Best and Fairest winners: Alice Astbury, Ella Wood and Alyssa Townsend - and Kayla van Straaten was Runner-Up in the 15& Unders.

This is the 2nd B Grade win for Ella, taking it out last year as well, and Alyssa won the 15&Under League Best and Fairest in 2024!

We had over 35 of our players score votes during the season, with some of our juniors gaining votes in their senior games too!

A huge congratulations to all our netballers on your incredible season. Your hard work and commitment shines thru!
