Launch Tennis Coaching is helping drive a resurgence in junior tennis across the Noosa region, with participation continuing to grow and Term 3 shaping up to be the biggest yet.
Just three and a half years ago, Tewantin Noosa Tennis Club had no junior fixture teams. Today, the club is celebrating four junior teams reaching the finals last season, including one premiership-winning team, and is aiming to field a record eight junior teams in the upcoming season.
The growth reflects a strong focus on junior player development, structured coaching and creating clear pathways for children to progress from beginner through to competition tennis.
The recent appointment of Pete Taylor, a Tennis Australia Master Club Professional, as Head Coach at Good Shepherd Lutheran College has further strengthened Launch Tennis Coaching’s presence across the Noosa region. In its first term delivering the school’s tennis program, overall participation has increased by almost 60 per cent, driven by growth in weekly coaching and the successful introduction of holiday tennis clinics.
“It’s been incredibly rewarding to see so many local children getting involved in tennis. Watching the program grow from no junior teams to eight teams this season shows what’s possible when children are given a fun, supportive environment and a clear pathway to develop. Our goal is to help every child enjoy the game, build confidence and stay involved in sport for years to come,” Pete said.
Programs are designed around small structured group coaching, ensuring every child receives quality instruction while progressing through the Tennis Australia recognised Red, Orange, Green and Yellow Ball pathway. The emphasis is on developing skills, confidence, friendships and a lifelong love of tennis in a fun and supportive environment.
With Term 3 enrolments now open, Launch Tennis Coaching welcomes primary school children of all abilities, from complete beginners through to competitive players, with programs starting from just $20 per lesson.
