🏉 SOMETHING THAT LASTS… STARTS WITH SOMEONE GOING FIRST.

Just over a year ago, there was no dedicated place in the Darling Downs for junior girls to experience rugby together.

Girls were often the only female in their team, with few opportunities to connect with other girls who loved the game. Too many were quietly walking away.

A group of local parents decided that wasn't good enough. So they built something.

Today, the Darling Downs Girls Rugby Hub has welcomed more than 90 girls. Over half were trying rugby for the first time… And the Hub remains 100% volunteer-led.

This September, we're opening something that will only ever open once:

These are the businesses, families and community champions whose names will always be connected to the beginning of the Girls Hub.

Once the founding group is complete, this opportunity will never be offered again.

There are five ways to be part of it — from $250 as a Founding Friend through to a Founding Presenting Partner. In-kind support is welcome too.

🌟Game Day for the Girls! 🌟

The DDGRH Game Day returns for another year! This year we welcome the girls from Moreton Bay Youth Rugby Academy for fun, friendly and competitive matches in beautiful Toowoomba.

📅Sunday 13th September
📍Toowoomba Anglican School
⏰9:00am- Jersey Presentation
⏰9:15am- Come and Try training session for non-players.
⏰10:00am Under 10s Kick Off (2x 20min halves)
⏰ 11:00am Under 12s Kick Off (2x 25min halves)

..followed by tug-o-wars, and a bbq lunch. 😀

We extend our gratitude to Toowoomba Anglican School for their continued support of the Girls Hub and use of their stunning grounds. 🙏

We warmly invite all friends and families to watch our girls go to work on the field.

This year we welcome Ground Me Coffee for the grown ups and Twirl & Swirl Ice Creams for the kids. (That's AFTER the game for the players! 😉)

The Girls Hub Game Day celebrates our Girls in Rugby Union. This is a day just for the girls; to come together with other girls who have worked hard on the field all year. A day where the girls are the stars of the show, and showcase their skills in a safe and supportive environment.💪

We are grateful to the Moreton Bay Youth Rugby Academy for sharing our vision and support for junior girls. Sincere thanks is extended to their friends and families for travelling up the Range to play with us.

We are still filling our teams for Under 10s and Under 12s. Come and have a run with Girls as they take on the Moreton Bay Youth Rugby Academy a friendly and competitive match.

The Game Day is about celebrating our junior players at a rugby day that is all about them. It's a fun, friendly and family atmosphere. Come and see why Rugby Union is a girls game like no other.

So much learning, laughing and rugby at today’s Darling Downs Girls Rugby Hub session. 💪✨

A massive shoutout to our wonderful coaches for the energy, encouragement and time you continue to give our girls… we’re incredibly lucky to have you.

And a huge thank you to Dalby & District Rugby Union Football Club for welcoming us to John Ritter Oval. It was so great to bring the Hub to Dalby and, once again, feel the support of such a fantastic community rugby club. 💙

There’s something pretty special about seeing our young girls from across the Darling Downs come together, make new friends, build their confidence and just love playing rugby.

We LOVED seeing our girls from different clubs catching up, cheering each other on and celebrating together. 💙🩷 That’s what the Darling Downs Girls Rugby Hub is all about!

Now it’s time to switch our focus to our September Girls Game Day, and preparations are well underway.
