Emsley Lodge trained Hughie made it four wins in a row in just 22 days for Thoroughbred Club horses when he scored at Wodonga on Monday.
He won by 10 lengths at Casterton last start on August 9 but a photo was needed to give him a favourable verdict this time.
Hughie's consecutive wins follow a memorable day at Wodonga on July 26 when the club celebrated a winning double with Hughie's stablemate Brutify and Calthorpe Racing trained Frosted Miss.
All seven horses we have raced are winners and all together they have won for the club 16 races from 105 starts.

Emsley Lodge-trained Hughie is our third winner in just two weeks after romping home to a 10-length win at Casterton today.
On July 26, the club celebrated a double when Hughie's stablemate Brutify and Calthorpe Racing-trained both won at Wodonga.
Notably, the club has been involved in 7 horses that have raced and they are all winners!
In total the club horses have now won 15 races and Hughie's winning margin was easily the biggest.

Vale Diatribe
14/09/1996 - 21/07/2026
Dual Geelong Racehorse of the Year Diatribe has passed away peacefully in his paddock that he lived out his retirement in. Still the record holder of the fastest Caulfield Cup winner and a much loved horse till the end.
Trained by George Hanlon at Leopold.

A big day at Colac with Brutify winning her maiden in great style for club members and her other connections.
She is our 5th individual winner and brought up the 12th win for club members.
Many thanks to the team at Emsley Lodge for turning out Brutify in such great order.
Hats off to Emsley Lodge as Brutify was the first leg of a Colac winning treble for the stable today.
Brutify has always shown plenty of talent and hopefully she will win many more.

The Thoroughbred Club of Geelong has had countless highlights over the years, many of them at the Geelong Racehorse of the Year which it held annually from 1997 to 2019.
Some of this vision is more than 20 years old and no doubt it will bring back fond memories for a lot of people who attended club events and who are now much older.
Some people in the video tribute are no longer with us but we fondly remember their support and contribution to racing in Geelong.

What a start to 2025 for club members - 3 wins from as many runners for the year!
Divine Turf again showed her toughness, racing wide without cover and getting home in a photo finish at Horsham today, 3 weeks after winning first-up at Hamilton.
Many thanks to Calthorpe Racing who also trains Divine Turf's stablemate Might Just Happen who also won first-up for club members at Benalla nine days ago.

We’re on a winning streak! Might Just Happen pulled off a hard-fought victory at Benalla today. A great start to the year for the club after Divine Turf won at Hamilton earlier this month. A big shoutout to Calthorpe Racing - Two runners for two winners for us in 2025.
