Bean Beat Crown Ocean Series

Presentations were today held at our fabulous BeanBeat for the 2024 series, so many thanks to competitors, volunteers and sponsors.
The results :

Individual males - 1st Lars Olsen 59 points, 2nd Balin Whitford 47 points , 3rd Dylan Smith 38 points

Individual females - 1st Shannon Macdonald 57 points, 2nd Kaliki James 42 points, 3rd Lou MacDonald 40 points

The Hervey Bay Humpbacks retain the club trophy this year with 252 points. Club points were allocated for combined male and female swimmers who completed 2 of the 3 events in this series please note.

This series was run with solid guidelines and in amongst it we still keep things light, Ron Acutt was awarded some new glasses and coffee vouchers in recognition of his efforts for this year.

What an awesome race to complete this years series. I can’t wait to see the results for the overall winner of the club trophy. Currently the Hervey Bay Humpbacks hold it but we’ll soon find out who gets it for their pool room for 2024. Well done to all competitors, you can be so proud of yourself for getting out there and racing in our beautiful bay. 🙌🏻

Beautiful Hervey Bay turned it on for the first event in this years series, thank you to those who have registered for the opportunity to score points both individually and for their nominated club.
Currently the trophy sits in the hands of the Hervey Bay Humpbacks , let’s see if they can do it again this year 😀

Couple of sleeps until we get our first race completed for this years Triple Crown Series, looking forward to see our happy swimmers rocking out in our fabulous bay. We will have hard copy registration forms available Saturday also if you haven’t completed one yet as well. The Hervey Bay Humpbacks won last years club trophy so let’s see who can give them a swim or 3 for the bragging rights of the 2024 round. See you at the Hervey Bay Surf Life Saving Club 😀

It’s race week. Entries will stay open until Thursday night. There are no late or on-the-day entries as water safety planning all happens Friday.

10 days until our first swim of this years series, looking forward to what will no doubt be some excellent open water swimming on the beautiful Fraser Coast. Go you good things and thank you for ongoing support of local events 🙌🏻

There has been some confusion over the rules for the Club point score for the Bean Beat Series. So, here they are:
1: you'll need to register for the Series by the completion of the Junction Swim;
2: complete at least 2 of the 3 swims (not all 3) for your points to be counted towards the club point score; and
3: all points that an individual is awarded for each swim, including, participation, overall & age group points will also be counted towards the club point score.
NOTE - to be eligible for the individual series prizes, you must complete all 3 events.

Registrations for the Bean Beat Ocean Series have been extended out to the 6 October (after completion of the Junction Swim). Also, in addition to the major cash prizes for the top 3 male & female participants, there will also be consolation prizes to be randomly drawn out at the Presentation Event at the Bean Beat Cafe on Sat 30 November. IT'S FREE TO REGISTER AND FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR COMPLETION AT THE REGISTRATION DESKS FOR THE PIER 2 PUB AND JUNCTION SWIMS OR MESSAGE US WITH THESE DETAILS: NAME,; DOB; MOBILE # & CLUB.
