From tiny tots to our seniors, musical theatre, jazz, ballet, drama and everything in between… it’s going to be one very special night celebrating rural kids, dance and our communities.

Our last Outreach practices before our very special filming days!

Everyone is SO excited for next week, and we can’t wait to bring all of our amazing rural dancers together (virtually!) to capture something really special.

We’ve been working hard, learning, laughing and making friendships from all over the bush — and now it’s almost time to show you what we’ve been creating!

Our absolute firecracker of a Tottenham drama teacher! Miss Abbey brings SO much energy, passion and fun to every class, and we are incredibly lucky to have her sharing her love of drama with our rural kids.

Abbey, you have the biggest heart, and the joy and enthusiasm you bring to Dance 2873 is so special. We are so grateful to have you as part of our little dance family!

This week is all about DRESS REHEARSALS… and we are officially just ONE WEEK from showtime!

Looking back at some special moments from last year’s concert has us even more excited for what’s ahead.

The costumes, the music, the nerves, the laughter, the last-minute chaos and then that magical moment when the curtain opens… there really is nothing quite like concert week!

Our dancers have been working so hard and we cannot wait to see all of their hard work come together on stage for Country Soul.

We are SO, SO excited — and we hope you’re ready for a very special show!

A little snippet of the fun we had at Condobolin’s second rehearsal yesterday!

It’s getting VERY real now… this week is dress rehearsal week and we are officially getting SO close to show time!

We can’t wait to see all of our dancers bring Country Soul to life on stage. It’s going to be such a special night!

Yesterday’s rehearsal in Tottenham had a little bit of everything…

A sneaky surprise with balloons, cake and everyone singing Happy Birthday to me (I’m so grateful for our incredible dance families), plenty of chaos, lots of laughs, and some seriously incredible creations from our amazing parents.

What a beautiful afternoon it was. Every rehearsal makes me even more excited because Country Soul is looking so, so good. I can’t wait for everyone to see what these amazing kids have been working so hard on!

“Today’s question is — do our Outreach classes run in blocks of six weeks, or how does it actually work?”

Our Outreach classes actually run just like our in-person dance classes — by the school term.

You can jump in and do a trial class at any point during the term, and if your child loves it, you can enrol them for the remainder of that term.

Then each week, they log on at the same time, with the same teacher and the same little group of dancers, so they’re actually progressing and building friendships as they go.

We follow the NSW school terms, so you’ve still got your normal school holiday breaks too.

It’s not a six-week online course — it’s their regular weekly dance class, it just happens to be online!

And you can absolutely come and try a class first to see if it’s right for your child.

Still giggling over the antics of our Outreach Senior Jazz class last night.

Watching these girls form friendships with each other, despite being hours apart, makes it all so worth it. They are genuinely SO excited to see each other each week, and I absolutely love watching those friendships grow.

Yes, we dance. Yes, we learn new skills. Yes, we challenge ourselves.

But out here in “the bush”, having the opportunity to make friends with other kids who love dance just as much as you do is every bit as important.

And then there’s the fact that I’m pretty sure these girls live to make me roll my eyes at them every single week. I joke that they live to torture me… but secretly, I really, really love it.

This is what Outreach is all about. Dance, friendship, connection and a little bit of chaos along the way. There’s always space in our classes, click the link in our bio and come dance with us!

Happy Father’s Day

Today we’re celebrating the dads, stepdads, grandads, uncles, brothers, and all the father figures who show up, cheer loudly, lend a helping hand and remind our kids that they are loved and supported.
