Athletics North Queensland is pleased to offer a Fundamentals of Officiating Workshop on Saturday, 8 August at Tolga Sports Ground
Officials play a vital role in the successful running of athletics competitions, and this workshop is designed to introduce participants to officiating at both school and club level.
The workshop will include both theory and practical components, providing participants with the knowledge and skills needed to assist at athletics competitions. Those wishing to further develop their experience are encouraged to volunteer with their local athletics club throughout the remainder of the season.

✅ Applying the Rules
✅ Safety
✅ Recording Results
✅ The Role of an Official at an Event Site
⚠️ Important: Participants must be 14 years of age or older to attend.

Athletics North Queensland is now accepting Expressions of Interest for both Athletes and Team Managers for the 2026 Australian All Schools Championships in Perth.
If you're interested in being part of the ANQ team, make sure you complete the Expression of Interest form. Athletes will only be considered for selection if they have submitted an EOI, so even if you're still deciding, we strongly encourage you to put your name forward.

RECREATIONAL RUNNING COACH ONLINE COURSE (AUGUST 8 TILL AUGUST 29)
Athletics North Queensland will be running a Recreational Running Coach (Level 1) online course starting August 8 and concluding on August 29. For the online practical course, you must participate in 4 x 60-minute sessions, facilitated live, conducted over 4 weeks.
Attendance and active participation are required. The Recreational Running Coach accreditation program is a Nationally Recognised Accreditation designed for coaches operating in running clubs, public training groups, and private squads.
The accreditation recognises that an individual has the appropriate skills
and knowledge to coach novice to intermediate runners in running events
up to Marathon-distance.
The program covers the core skills of run coaching, including leading a group, planning a variety of suitable running sessions, and writing a campaign program.

With only a week to go to register for Festival of Athletics, we have now extended registrations until the 8th June at 9am and we will also waive the late fee for all registrations. This will give people more time to put in their registrations for the event without having to pay an extra fee.
