๐ R U OK? ANY DAY ๐
Today is R U OK? Day โ an important reminder that asking โR U OK?โ shouldnโt be something we do just once a year. Itโs a conversation we can make part of our everyday, supporting our teammates, friends, families and fellow members.
Su***de is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15โ49, and on any given day, approximately eight Australians die by su***de. These are confronting statistics, but they reinforce why meaningful connection, checking in and having genuine conversations are so important.
Sometimes a simple โHow are you really going?โ can open the door to a conversation that someone desperately needs.
๐ Know that your Tigers family are always here for you.
Whether you need someone to listen, a chat over a coffee, or simply someone to sit beside you โ you are never alone in this club.
We also recognise that R U OK? Day can bring up difficult emotions. You donโt have to carry the weight of someone elseโs struggles if youโre not in the right headspace yourself. Itโs okay to recognise when youโre able to support someone and when you need support too.
If you need immediate support, reach out to a fellow Tiger or contact Lifeline Australia on 13 11 14, anytime, 24/7.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call Triple Zero (000).
๐ค๐ Ask. Listen. Encourage action. Check in.
And remember โ R U OK? Any day. Every day. ๐ฏ๐
