๐ OPEN WATER SWIMMING IN NQ ๐
From ferry jumps to the iconic Magnetic Island crossing, Townsvilleโs open water swimmers are gearing up for a massive season on the water.
The Townsville Open Water Swimming Association (TOWSA) says excitement is building ahead of several major events across the coming weeks and months, with swimmers of all ages and abilities preparing to hit Cleveland Bay.
Speaking with Northern Grandstand host Grant Bell, TOWSA President John Barrett said the events continue to attract everyone from seasoned competitors to first-time ocean swimmers, with the association focused on building participation, fitness and community spirit.
With calm winter conditions, stunning coastal scenery and a packed calendar ahead, organisers say thereโs never been a better time to dive into open water swimming in North Queensland.

Unfortunately, this maintenance was rescheduled at short notice and will impact Wednesday afternoon Learn to Swim lessons and facility operations.
All affected Love2Swim School families will receive a makeup lesson/credit applied to their accounts.
We sincerely appreciate everyoneโs patience and understanding while these important works are completed. ๐

Great to see MSQ Masters Swimming Queensland and Masters Swimming Australia getting great coverage on this years Nationals. A little sad none of our Legends will make this year. We are sending our best wishes for all who are competing, especially those from North Queensland. Anyone whoโs interested it is being live-streamed, so we can live a little vicariously.

We decided to sponsor the 4x50 menโs relay. For taking out the sponsorship we get our logo in the program as well as displayed on the big screen at the venue. I think on the screen they are also going to put under our logo that we are the hosts to the state championships.

Hi Everyone
We held our first E1000 - BBQ day today. It went well attendance wasnโt too bad it was after all our first one. Everyone who swam contributed to the points accumulating and I think they all got maximum points. Julie Richard and Jeff all swam the timed swims not the distance and they are big points contributors. Julie actually swam two events. The BBQ was done by my son Luke which was great all we had to do was sit and be fed. Julie bought an excellent dessert. I hope we can hold a few more during the year. Just spoke to spike and he said that we got 255 points in one day.
