Our friends at Baseball Association Townsville are raising funds for a new ride-on mower to help maintain the grounds and keep our diamonds looking their best for players across all clubs.

The legendary Jabiru Bounce has become part of Baseball Association Townsville folklore 😅 But we reckon it’s time to finally mow-ve into a new era!

We’re raising funds for a new ride-on mower to help keep Jabiru Park looking sharp, rolling smooth and maybe — just maybe — reduce the number of famous bounces each game 👀

Our current mower is well past its grass-roots days and no longer makes the roster. So we’re calling on our baseball community to pitch in so we can cut down the bounce, trim the chaos and lawn-ch a new chapter for Jabiru Park.

Because at the moment:
🌾 Every hop is an adventure
🌾 Practice doubles as survival training
🌾 And the grass is putting up bigger numbers than some hitters

Help us mow down the fundraising target and keep our diamonds looking first class.

After all… baseball is hard enough without the field throwing curveballs too 😆

Little League Majors – Round 6 - Game 2

It was another all-Pirates clash on Saturday at Diamond 2, with Pirates Buccaneers and Pirates Marauders facing off in a strong contest between two of our own teams.

Buccaneers came out quickly in the opening inning to build an early lead, before Marauders responded in the second to level the game and keep the pressure on. Buccaneers regained momentum shortly after and finished strongly to secure a 9–4 win.

There were plenty of positives across both teams, including disciplined at-bats, smart base running, and some great hitting throughout the game. Both sides continued to compete hard across every inning and showed plenty of resilience and teamwork.

Games like these are always a great reflection of our club culture — competitive on the field while continuing to support and encourage one another throughout the day.

A fantastic effort from both teams and another great afternoon of Little League baseball.

Little League Majors – Round 6 - Game 1

Pirates Raiders came away with an 11–8 win over Taipans LL Majors on Saturday at Diamond 1, Jabiru Park.

Raiders got off to a strong start, building early momentum through disciplined at-bats and timely hitting before adding to the lead across the middle innings. Taipans continued to fight back throughout the game, applying pressure offensively and keeping the contest competitive right through to the final innings.

There were plenty of positives for the Raiders, including patient approaches at the plate, aggressive base running, and strong defensive efforts throughout the game.

Taipans also showed great determination throughout the contest, combining smart base running with disciplined work at the plate to stay in the game.

A great game of junior baseball and another strong team performance from the Raiders.

Another big weekend of junior baseball ahead as our teams continue to build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy being out on the field with their teammates.

It’s been great seeing the growth across all of our junior teams throughout the season so far, and we’re looking forward to another fun afternoon at the park this Saturday.

Senior Results – Round 5

Another big weekend of senior baseball at Jabiru Park, with two wins from three grades and plenty of strong moments across the board 💪

A-Grade faced a tough Diamonds side, going down 20–7. The Pirates showed plenty of fight early and held the lead after the opening innings, with some strong hitting performances keeping the pressure on despite the final scoreline.

B-Grade returned to the winners list with an impressive 11–6 victory. A big second innings set the tone as the Pirates combined aggressive base running with consistent hitting to take control of the game early.

C-Grade delivered the drama of the day, walking it off in an exciting 8–7 win over Diamonds. In a back-and-forth contest, the Pirates held their nerve late to secure the victory in the final innings and cap off a great team performance.

A strong Round 5 for the Pirates with plenty of positives to build on heading into next week 🔥

🍕 Player of the Game – Week 5

Another fantastic weekend of junior baseball and another group of Pirates recognised for their outstanding efforts 👏

Our Week 5 Player of the Game winners were selected for the way they competed, supported their teammates, and represented the club throughout the day 💛🖤

It’s been great seeing the confidence, improvement, and enthusiasm growing across all of our junior teams as the season continues!

Each of this week’s winners receives a Domino’s voucher 🍕 – a well-earned reward for their efforts on the field.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums, grandmothers, carers, and mother figures in our Pirates family.

Today we celebrate the women who do it all — from cheering on the sidelines, helping behind the scenes, volunteering around the club, and supporting our players each week, to also stepping onto the field themselves as players and teammates.

Thank-you for the time, care, energy, and passion you bring to our club and community. Whether you’re packing bags, scoring games, coaching, volunteering, or pulling on a Pirates jersey yourself, we appreciate everything you do.

We hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day surrounded by family, love, and plenty of appreciation.
