The International Youth Challenge is returning to Australian soil and we couldn't be more excited to announce it!

Australia, the USA and New Zealand will each host a leg of the Challenge on home turf — and the Australian leg will be held at the North Queensland Elite Rodeo between 13-15 August 2026 in Townsville, QLD.

We'll be fielding a full Australian team across Team Roping, Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull/Steer Riding and Mini Bull Riding — and we'll have our best young cowboys and cowgirls representing the green and gold on home soil. 🇦🇺🤠

Donohues Tri-Nations Junior Elite Rodeo!!

NQ Elite is proud to support our junior competitors with various events to be held on Saturday afternoon 15th August from midday.
We have events to suit ages from the little ones upwards with 12 and under barrel race, poddy ride, mini bull ride 8-10 years, mini bull ride 10-14 years. Events for the older kids up to 17 years are the junior bull ride, breakaway roping, barrel race and team roping.
If you have any questions, please contact our secretary Chris Rennie on 0412827454 or [email protected] Entries for the 12 and under barrels, poddy ride and mini bull rides will be taken only by Chris and the older junior events must go through APRA central entries. The APRA website has the details on when their entries close, entry fees etc.
If you want to go along and support your family and friends competing, please ensure that you purchase your Saturday tickets now before they sell out as the juniors receive strictly only one companion pass.
