One of our long term juniors ,Sienna Monteith, has made it to the world stage and will represent Australia at Junior Worlds in Belgium. The Auscycling Levy for this event is extremely large and is charged directly to the Athlete. The Australian Sports Foundation is a gateway for Athletes to raise money for their sport costs. Sienna Monteith - UCI Junior Track Worlds- representing Australia | Australian Sports Foundation We are raising money to help send Sienna to Belgium for her 2026 UCI Junior Track Worlds Campaign. Sienna will represent Australia on the Velodrome in Belgium.

Changing Track follows Paralympic cyclists Emily Petricola, Korey Boddington and Kane Perris on their journey from trauma to triumph at Paris 2024, and explores how for these athletes, cycling quite literally saved their lives!

Townsville Cycle Club Invitational Carnival

The Townsville Cycle Club held its Invitational Carnival over the weekend, featuring some outstanding racing. A big thank-you to all members, visitors, and competitors who attended — your enthusiasm and sportsmanship made the event a tremendous success.

Acknowledgement is extended to our generous sponsors, Cycle De Vie, for their continued support, and to the Preston family for their thoughtful donations of clothing.

A special thank-you goes to our dedicated officials — Danny, Jon, and Marcus — for their outstanding efforts throughout the evening. Danny did a fantastic job managing the handicaps, resulting in some thrilling finishes and highly competitive racing across all grades, while Lindy deserves recognition for her superb work compiling the results.

We also extend our appreciation to Jon Kerswell and his family for their tireless work around the track and behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. A big thank-you also to Tim Grover, who ensured the fridges were well stocked with refreshments to keep everyone hydrated.

With great weather, exciting racing, and wonderful company, the carnival was an enjoyable and worthwhile experience for everyone involved. The Townsville Cycle Club looks forward to welcoming everyone back next year for another fantastic weekend of racing!

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of (Rocket) Ray Russell, a devoted cyclist and cherished long time member of our community, who passed away peacefully today.
Our thoughts are with the entire family.
Ray was a true stalwart of the club. Always happy to help at all our events. Ray was still cycling on the road and track to his very last day. You might often see Ray out on the bike in the early mornings or sitting beside the velodrome watching the members.
Ray will be dearly missed by the community and by all those that rode by his side.
Ride on Ray, - May the wind always be at your back.
