How cool is this before I go for a fish in the bay I always check the AIMS weather and camera to see what conditions are like in the bay , sometimes you see a few boats fishing around or going past the pylon but this is the best shot I have seen from it.

Good news for the Townsville boating community.

Repairs to the Marlin Street Boat Ramp at Balgal Beach will begin in mid-August 2026 - following flood damage sustained in 2025.

To improve safety, strengthen the facility and help protect it from future high-flow events - works include:
• Strengthening the ramp foundation
• Reconstructing the lower sections of the ramp
• Replacing damaged pre-cast concrete planks
• Installing scour protection to improve long-term resilience.

📅 Repairs are expected to be completed by October 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.

The boat ramp will be closed for use during works to support safe and efficient delivery.

Alternative launching facilities are available at the Toomulla boat ramp, approximately 16km from Balgal Beach.

Nice day down Morriseys today with Kayleen Powis , water color perfect , tidal run perfect and the day was perfect.
Found a few fish sitting on mud and snags and got a couple to bite.
Best went 57cm with a few rats playing the game , small sinkers letting prawn lures slowly sink worked a treat sometimes I think a bigger sinker takes the lures out of the zone to quick
