As we start to prepare for next season we will be running team sorting days.

Our Team Sorting Days help us create balanced teams and ensure every player has the best possible experience throughout the season. We encourage all current & returning players who are planning to play the Summer season to attend their allocated session.

1:00pm – U18 Boys (Born 2010–2011)

Our youngest Cannons stars stole the show last weekend, with our U10 Girls and U10 Boys taking to the court for a special exhibition game at halftime of the NBL1 North Townsville Flames and Heat games🌟

For many of these young ballers, it was their first taste of playing in front of a big crowd—and they absolutely embraced the moment!

From big smiles and great teamwork to plenty of hustle and excitement, they represented Cannons with pride.

A huge thank you to all of our players, families and supporters who made the experience so special. We can't wait to watch these future ballers continue to grow and shine. 💙🧡

🌟 Cannons Junior Earns Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence Scholarship 🌟

What an incredible achievement! 🏀💙💛

Cannons Basketball Club is thrilled to congratulate Ella Duroux on being awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Canberra.

Ella's basketball story began at Cannons when she was just five years old, continuing a proud family tradition. Basketball runs deep in the Duroux family, with both her parents, Tim and Julia Duroux, her grandmother and Cannons Life Member Brenda Williams, along with numerous aunties, uncles and cousins, all proudly wearing the Cannons colours over the years.

From those early junior games to now, Ella has continually impressed with her talent, determination and commitment to getting better every single day.
Her impressive resume includes:
🏅 Under 12 Queensland State Championship Gold Medallist
🏀 Queensland representative at the Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 Australian Junior Championships

While her achievements on the court speak for themselves, it's Ella's character that has truly set her apart.

She is known as an incredibly coachable athlete who embraces feedback, works tirelessly and is always striving to improve. Just as importantly, she's a fantastic teammate, humble, supportive and someone who genuinely lifts everyone around her. Ella leads by example and embodies everything Cannons Basketball values both on and off the court.

The Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence is Australia's premier high-performance basketball program and has developed many of our nation's greatest players, including Olympians and athletes who have gone on to play in the WNBA, WNBL, NBL and NBA.

Ella, we couldn't be prouder of everything you've achieved and can't wait to watch what comes next. We know this is only the beginning of an exciting journey.
