Saints JCU Junior Rugby League Club

Happy New Year Saints!! 2024 is shaping up to be another terrific season!! We'll have teams in every age group from under 6 to under 16s, including full girls under 12 and under 14 teams!! Coaches for our under 13, 14, 15 and 16 teams are ready to go from Tuesday 6 February. In these age groups, there will be two separate boys competitions. We'll be entering each of our Saints teams in the development division, where they'll play teams of similar skills, experience and level, which will be great! Kids aged 5, 6 and 7 will play League tag, which is a perfect way to get started in rugby league! Sign on day is Saturday January 20 from 9am to midday at Joe Baker Field, but past Saints players can register now online at Playrugbyleague. 😁💙💛🏉😇

Registrations for existing Saints players for 2024 are now open!! This season, the 7 awesome Saints in the pic were each awarded with the inaugural 5 Year Saint Award, having played every season since we started juniors in 2019!! Hopefully we'll see lots more players receive this prestigious award in 2024! To register, head to playrugbyleague and we'll see you at training in February!! 😁🏉💙💛😇

Registrations for our existing Saints players will open on the weekend (yay!) PLEASE NOTE that an important change has been made by the Queensland Rugby League, whereby, when registering on Playrugbyleague.com, you will need to pay for your child's insurance up front with a credit card. This ranges from $20 for under 6s, up to $40 for under 17s. In the past, this insurance cost has been included in our club's $220 registration fee and the club has paid it in a lump sum. To reflect this change, we have reduced the registration fees, so that everyone is still paying about the same as our previous 5 seasons. Although the insurance must now be paid in advance, once registered online, families can still choose to pay their registration fee up front with a credit card, direct debit into the club's bank account, pay cash at training or do a payment plan over a number of weeks. We're happy to say that the Saints are still the most affordable footy club in Townsville and of course the most welcoming!! 😁🏉💙💛😇

After a false start last weekend, our JCU Saints AGM is on this Sunday (12 November) at 3pm at Tom's Tavern. We need club families to get involved as part of our management or organising groups to ensure we can put teams on the field in 2024. As Michael Jordan said, some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen! Hope to see lots of Saints there keen to make it happen!! 😁💙💛🏉😇

Our JCU Saints Annual General Meeting (AGM) is on this Sunday at 3pm at Tom's Tavern. For our kids to have a great junior rugby league experience, we need lots of helpers to be involved to organise and run different parts of the club. Being in our Saints organising committee is plenty of fun and feels great when you see so many families enjoying themselves as a result of your involvement. There are 14 different roles that suit individuals with different skills, such as fundraising coordinator, club photographer, BBQ chef, canteen coordinator and 13-18s development officer, so no one is expected to do everything. Saints families, would you like to see our great little club continue to grow? Then come along to the JCU Saints AGM on Sunday 5 November at 3pm at Tom's Tavern. We'll be electing our management positions along with creating our 2024 organising group, that includes roles such as Tuesday night training BBQ coordinator, volunteer manager, under 13s-18s development officer, fundraising manager, home game coordinator, gear manager and more. We believe in having fun whilst volunteering and love seeing how all the work we do puts lots of smiles on our Saints families faces! Hopefully see you there to begin our march into 2024!! 😁🏉💙💛

What a perfect way to celebrate our season yesterday at the Saints Presentation Day! It was so nice to see families sitting together eating burgers and having a laugh whilst the kids ran around kicking footies, racing go-carts, shooting nerfs, jumping on the bouncy castle and hanging out together! Lots of these kids didn't know each other in January, but now they're best mates! Thank you Saints families for such an enjoyable season and hope you've loved watching your kids play, grow and have heaps of fun! We can't wait to do it all again with you in 2024 (though it will be nice to have a rest for a while 😉). 😁😇💙💛🏉
