Ranchlands Equestrian Centre

Ranchlands Equestrian Centre Horse-Riding and Agistment Equestrian Centre
Ranchlands is Townsville's oldest and most prestigious horse riding school.

Ranchlands Townsville's oldest horse riding school has been teaching adults and children to ride horses for 44 years. We cater for the 6 year old horse crazy child to the nervous any age adult, who has always wanted to ride, but never had the opportunity. Besides helping you to get fit and stay supple, you will meet like minded people and have a chance to interact with these wonderful animals. For most people it becomes a life long passion. Pupils can participate in private or group classes, where they can learn basic horsemanship, dressage, games on horseback and jumping.

🌿 TRANSITIONS & TRANSFORMATION 🌿
A Journey to Rediscover You 🐴

Life takes us through many roles, experiences and changes. Sometimes we reach a point where we pause and ask…

“Who am I now?”

If this sounds familiar, perhaps it’s time to reconnect with the real you — your confident, vibrant, joy-filled spirit. ❤️

Join us for a beautiful day with a herd of horses, in a safe and supportive space where you can slow down, reflect and rediscover yourself.

Through gentle exercises and connection with the horses, you’ll have the opportunity to explore who you are now and what comes next.

We’re excited to have Jenny and Brenda back together to facilitate this special one-day Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) workshop!

✨ The day includes:
🐴 Group discussion
🌿 Reflection exercises
🧘 Tai Chi & mindfulness

50 Years of Ranchlands… A Truly Remarkable Journey ❤️

This year, Ranchlands Equestrian Centre celebrates an incredible milestone — 50 years of sharing the joy of horses with the Townsville community.

Founded and lovingly operated by Jenny and Lew Haines, Ranchlands has introduced thousands of children and adults to the magic of horses. For many, we’ve been their very first ride, first trot, first canter, and the place where a lifelong love of horses began. 🐴❤️

Over five decades, we’ve had the privilege of teaching multiple generations of local families. We’ve watched children grow into adults, who have then returned with children of their own. Being part of those stories has been something truly special.

But with this milestone comes some bittersweet news.

After 50 wonderful years, Jenny and Lew have made the decision to retire, and Ranchlands will close at the end of 2026.

While it is the end of an era, it is also a celebration of two people who have dedicated their lives to making horses accessible to our community. Through lessons, school holiday programs, gymkhanas, camps and countless rides, they have built far more than a riding school — they’ve created a community.

To everyone who has ridden with us, volunteered, supported us, trusted us with your children, or simply cheered us on over the years…

Thank you. ❤️

Your support has made these 50 years possible, and we are incredibly proud of everything Ranchlands has become.

We still have plenty of memories to make! Classes will continue until the end of November, and we look forward to welcoming many more smiling faces before we close this wonderful chapter.

🎉 SAVE THE DATE! 🎉

🐴 SHUTTING OF THE GATE PARTY 🐴

Sunday 22nd November

Open to all past and present Students, Parents, Volunteers, Instructors, Agistees and Friends.

Come along, share your memories, celebrate 50 years of Ranchlands and help us give this special place the send-off it deserves. ❤️

More details to follow…

From our family to yours, thank you for being part of the Ranchlands story. ❤️
