Congratulations to our very own IRB guru Ian on being awarded Assessor of the Year at the Surf Life Saving Queensland Awards of Excellence tonight. 👏🙌 We are so proud of Ian and love that he’s been recognised for the incredible work he does as part of our training team, not only for our club members but all of the North Barrier Branch.

FREE School Holidays Activity & a great way for your kids to see what our Junior Activities (Nippers) program is like ~

Little Lifesavers – Come & Try Day
📍 Townsville – Net 2, The Strand, Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club (Strand Park)
📅 Thursday 1st October
🕗 8:00am – 12:00pm
Little Lifesavers is a brilliant way to get kids active and engaged while they learn real water safety skills for life. Over the session, your child will take part in:
Water Safety Presentation – flags, signs, sun safety, rips, signalling for help, lifesavers, rescue equipment and inland waterways.
Water Skills – wading, dolphin diving, floating, underwater skills and survival techniques.
Rescues – reach, throw and tube rescue techniques, plus recovery position and CPR awareness.
Board Paddling – board technique and how to perform a board rescue.
Flags – traditional beach flags and a fun modified water version.
Beach Activities – obstacle course, beach sprints, relays and team games.

🔴🟡 Volunteer Patrol Season started over the weekend, which means you will once again see our wonderful Arcadian volunteer lifesavers on the beach at Alma Bay every weekend and public holiday from now until May. Please help them out by swimming between the flags, check out any stinger risks on the info boards and while you’re there maybe give them a quick wave of thanks for keeping our beach visitors safe this season. 🔴🟡
