Octavia is on the move again, graduating from Advanced 1 into Advanced 2! 🏊‍♀️💦

She’s worked hard on her breaststroke kick alongside her freestyle and backstroke, and now she’s ready to bring it all together with breaststroke arms and timing and start working on those butterfly arms! 🐸🦋

Advanced 2 also means stepping up to a 45-minute lesson — more time in the water to keep developing those beautiful swimming skills! 👏

Water is part of so many of our favourite family moments.
The excitement of jumping in. The laughter that comes with a big splash. Learning something new. Watching grandparents, siblings and parents share the water together.
But before children can confidently enjoy those moments, they need the skills to feel comfortable and capable in the water.

That’s where the journey begins.

Swimming lessons give children the opportunity to build confidence, develop essential water safety skills and gradually become more independent in the water.

And every child’s journey looks different.

BORN TO FLOAT 💙💦

There’s a moment when a child realises they can trust the water.
Maybe it starts with being supported.
Then a little less support.
Then suddenly, they’re floating on their own.

It might look like a simple milestone, but learning to float is an important part of becoming comfortable and capable in the water.

It teaches children to relax, control their breathing and understand how their body moves in the water. And perhaps most importantly, it can help build the confidence to stay calm and keep learning.

Like every part of the swimming journey, it takes time. Some children find it easy straight away, while others need a little more encouragement and repetition. There’s no rush.

Every float, every kick and every attempt is another step towards greater water confidence and lifelong water safety.

Because sometimes the biggest progress happens when a child simply learns to trust themselves.

The giggles.
The jumping.

The “do it again!” that somehow never gets old.

For children, these little moments of play are how they build a happy, positive relationship with water.

And as their confidence grows, so does their curiosity. They become more comfortable trying new skills, exploring what their bodies can do and discovering just how much fun water can be.

WE'RE BORN TO LEARN.

One of the most beautiful parts of learning to swim is that progress doesn’t always look like a huge milestone. Sometimes it’s something tiny.

A child who used to hold on finally lets go.
A nervous swimmer puts their face in the water.
A kick becomes a little stronger.
A float lasts a little longer.
And suddenly, something that once felt difficult starts to feel possible.

That’s what makes the swimming journey so special. It teaches children that they don’t have to get everything right the first time.

They can try.
They can wobble.
They can have another go.

And with encouragement and consistency, confidence grows.
Those lessons reach far beyond the water.

Because learning to swim isn’t just about becoming a better swimmer. It’s about developing capability, independence and confidence that children can take with them wherever life takes them.
