Next next event has been scheduled in for Friday 10th of July 2026. This event will be in memory of a past CCO Adam Nielsen-Carr who sadly passed away suddenly, he was a avid golfer and all round great bloke.

Event will be held again at Tropics Golf Club, if you are interested please leave a comment so we can organise numbers.

We would like to thank Boost Juice Townsville Shopping Centre, Baker and Barrista and IDK cafe for supporting the event with vouchers for prizes to give out on the day. Get in and support these local businesses.

Another fantastic day by all! Anyone that managed to grab a few extra photos feel free to throw them in the comments or send them and I will add them. As always we welcome any feedback and new ideas. Keep an eye out for the next event. Shirt orders are always open so send us a message with sizes and quantity, long sleeve will also be an option.

Alrighty Guys the date is set, the teams are made, all that's left is to take the bragging rights.
The T time is 9am this time please be there at least 20 minutes before so we can get the ball rolling, we are hoping this gets everyone finished a little earlier and in time for school pickups, if necessary.
We have booking space for two more if anyone knows someone still interested but too slack to let me know, it will be first in best dressed and will need to be a complete pair.
Unfortunately, we were too late to organize food this time but the cafe at the club has plenty to offer.
The format will remain the same, a 2 man Ambrose. We have not laid out the playing order yet so if anyone needs to t off a little later please let me know ASAP.
We have a few prizes again this time and hope that we have provided something all can enjoy. May the best team win!

We're excited to announce the second event for the Townsville Chiefs Golf Club. Here are the key details for the day:

Event Date: Friday, 1 May 2026
Location: Tropics Golf Club, Nineteenth Ave, Kirwan QLD 4817
Format: 2‑man Ambrose (all skill levels welcome)

We currently have a poll running on our page to help shape the day. The poll includes:
- 9 holes vs. 18 holes
- Prepared food vs. buying food as you go
- Tee time options, as we're trying to find a start time that works best for everyone, including those with school pickup requirements

The poll closes on Monday, 6 April, so please make sure you get your votes in before then.

We're also looking for suggestions on prizes for the day and welcome any feedback. We're always aiming to improve, and we've taken on board the comments from our first event. The goal is to make this round run even smoother.

There will be a meat tray raffle drawn at the end of the round.

Please confirm your attendance by Thursday, 23 April.

Well that’s a wrap! The first Chiefs golf event is in the books after a bit of a false start.

Firstly we would like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the event. We hope you had an enjoyable day of quality or not so quality golf.

We would like to thank Russ for the help and support with getting an event like this up on its legs. The help and guidance from him has been invaluable. Thank you townsville chiefs MRLC to the for organising the meat tray for the raffle. The money raised from the raffle will go towards future events.

We would also like to thank Tropics Golf Club for hosting us for our first event.

As we have said before, the purpose behind the golf events are to create a space where we as a group can unwind from the stresses of our work environment and have a laugh amongst colleagues. I’m sure there were lots of laughs to be had throughout the day. With the current events and constant on going stresses of our work we feel strongly about creating ways for staff members to be able to look after their mental health and wellbeing, whether it be through casual conversation with mates, friendly banter or making new friends.

We would like to congratulate the winners of the round that was decided by a bit friendly trash talking and a putt off:
- John Naylor and Anthony Irvine with a score of 73
- Eric Wilkins taking out the nearest to pin on hole 2 with 6 1/2m
- Brendon Rawlons taking out the long drive with a 266m bomb… but not without a controversial stake being made by David (kelvinator) Tutt.
- Andrew Browning taking out arguably the most sort after prize of the day…the meat tray raffle! Looks like the secure breakfast on Sunday will be getting a bit of an upgrade.

Once again we would like to thank everyone involved in today’s event. We hope you had a great time and look forward to seeing you in the future. The guys are always open to suggestions or feedback to help make the day better or run more smoothly so please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know.
