🎾 Tuesday Ladies Tennis – New Players Welcome!

Tranmere Tennis Club’s much loved Tuesday Ladies Lawn Tennis Competition is heading into its 29th season … and there’s still time to join the fun.

If you enjoy a healthy morning activity, friendly competition, and a warm social environment, this is the perfect way to spend a Tuesday.

The competition caters for all ages and all abilities, with graded teams to keep matches enjoyable and balanced.

We play on some of the best grass courts in Adelaide in a relaxed social format — doubles only, two sets each, plenty of laughs, and no finals. Just great tennis and great company.

Come and try, get in touch, or invite a tennis loving friend to join us.

Practice Day: Tuesday 6 October 2026 Season Starts: Tuesday 13 October 2026 … but you can join us anytime.

If you know someone who’d love this, please share. New faces are always welcome in the Tranmere community.

Interested? PM us or email [email protected] for details or to join in.

Sport is so important to the physical and mental health of our community.

Over many years Campbelltown City Council (SA) has invested to assist clubs to provide the facilities for everyone to be strong and healthy. It has been a decades long project and is still in progress to make facilities match community expectations.

As a result women can still play tennis and netball but are out playing footy and soccer in numbers never imagined just a few years ago - and winning too.

I congratulate the local clubs for their determination to support girls and women to be out on the field and enjoying all the same benefits as the men.

An incident over the weekend could be viewed as a setback but I believe it showed a strength in our community to make us all feel better about our community.

It was reported on another site that a lone man was yelling insults at young women players on the footy field. The players kept playing but another man dashed over to intervene. No violence. No drama. Just de-escalation and hopefully the troubled man who felt that he needed to put the players down learned a valuable lesson.

Well done Sir Galahad and Go the women players.
