Dear Tullamore,
We need your help. Tullamore P.A & H Association Inc Show is just around the corner, and we need a hand to get ready for it.
Our working bees have always been supported by a small group of volunteers, but with the average age of those attending now around 70 years, we would love to see some new faces getting involved. To make it easier for more people to help, we've moved our working bees from Friday to Saturday after receiving feedback that Fridays weren't convenient.
The Tullamore Show is the only major event in our town. It brings visitors to Tullamore, showcases our community, and is something we can all be proud of. However, the Show can't continue without volunteers willing to pitch in.
This Saturday, we'll be at the Showgrounds, and we'd love your help.
Whether you can spare 10 minutes, an hour, or a couple of hours, every bit of help makes a real difference.
There are plenty of jobs to suit everyone, including:
Mowing and whipper snipping around the grounds
Blowing out the Cake Pavilion
Cleaning the brick toilets
Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor
Cleaning windows
Hanging curtains
Cleaning out the Pony Club shed
Cleaning out the Show Dog room
Shifting tyres
Moving grandstands so we can mow underneath
Setting up the Speed Shearing shed
Setting up the Sheepdog Trial area
Later in the week: setting up benches, putting out bins and liners, and preparing the Show Dog and Cattle arenas
Some of these jobs are last minute, but the list is long and it's not getting any shorter.
If you've ever enjoyed the Tullamore Show, now is the perfect time to give a little back. Many hands really do make light work, and together we can make sure our Show is ready to welcome everyone.
