🌟Academy Challenge Prep! 🌟

Former CCAS athlete and 2025 Ray Sandell Dedication to Sporting Excellence Award winner, Addison Kowaliw, joined our netball and umpiring session last night to share her Academy Challenge experience with the girls.

Addison spoke about what makes the weekend so special, what the athletes can expect, and how they can make the most of the opportunity. Hearing from someone who has been through the experience was a great way for our athletes to feel prepared, excited, and ready for what’s ahead on the weekend.

The girls also got creative, making their signs for Saturday evening, where they’ll go head to head with the other academies for the Lip Sync Battle title for 2026 🎤✨
They also spent time going through camp expectations, playing some games, and building connections with their teammates.

We are so excited to see our teams head down to Illawarra tomorrow evening and can’t wait to see the friendships, learnings, and memories they create over the weekend.

A big thank you to Mingara Recreation Club for hosting us for the evening

🛹 NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN! 🛹

The CCAS Skateboarding Program provides a high-performance pathway for talented young skateboarders.
Athletes will develop their technical skills, strength & conditioning, performance knowledge and personal growth, with targeted training and preparation for high-performance trials.
The program also includes education in nutrition, sports psychology and injury management, plus opportunities to represent CCAS at events, inter-academy sessions and camps.

📋 PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
Athletes must:
Be turning 10 – 17 (2010-2018) in 2027
Currently reside within the Central Coast Council LGA
Demonstrate a dedication to improving their performance

📅 PROGRAM DELIVERY PERIOD
October 2026 – December 2026

The CCAS Greater Bank Netball Umpires Program, delivered through the RAS network in partnership with Netball NSW, provides a high-quality, athlete-centred development pathway for emerging umpires.

PROGRAM BENEFITS
Selected umpires will have access to:
High-quality coaching & development from CCAS umpire coaches
Face to face on court training and skill development
Strength & Conditioning and sports science support
Technical, tactical & personal development
Opportunities to officiate/represent CCAS at numerous state wide events
Netball NSW Pathway identification

UMPIRE ELIGIBILITY
Umpire athletes must:
Male or Female aged 14–18 years in 2027 (born 2009-2013)
Be a registered member of a Netball club within the Central Coast region.
Be an unbadged umpire or hold a C Badge
Reside in the Central Coast LGA
Attend selection trials

🏀 NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN! 🏀

The CCAS Basketball Development Academy Program (DAP) is delivered in partnership with Basketball NSW and the Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) network, supporting the identification and development of emerging basketball talent across the Central Coast.
The DAP focuses on long-term athlete development, helping young athletes build the skills, knowledge and experience needed to progress towards Basketball NSW Performance Programs.

WHAT THE PROGRAM DELIVERS
✨ High-quality coaching in a squad environment
🏀 Development of basketball fundamentals & game understanding
💪 Strength & Conditioning assessment and programming
🏟️ Access to quality training facilities
🏆 Opportunities to represent CCAS at events
🔥 Participation in Your Local Club Academy Games & Inter-Academy Basketball activities (selected team only)

WHO CAN NOMINATE
Athletes must:
• Be U15 (born 2013) or U14 (born 2014)
• Hold a current Basketball NSW membership
• Participate in representative basketball
• Reside within the Central Coast LGA catchment
• Satisfy Basketball NSW talent identification criteria and Basketball NSW BLUES values
📅 Program Delivery: October 2026 – April 2027

Heading to an eligible state, national or international sporting championship?
Financial assistance is available through the Australian Sports Commission’s:

🏅 Local Sporting Champions
Grants of $500 to $750 for eligible competitors, coaches and officials aged 13 to 18.

♿ Local Para Champions
Grants of $750 to $1,000 for eligible participants, coaches, officials and support roles aged 13 to 24.
Eligibility and minimum ages vary depending on the level of competition.

⏰ Applications close 31 August 2026.
