🔨⛵ COMMODORE’S NOTE – MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK! ⛵🔨
Our front fence is in the process of being replaced, and as Commodore it gives me a great opportunity to recognise and thank the volunteers who have helped make it happen.
A huge thank you to Wayne for procuring the fence panels and posts, and to Jenny for arranging the generous donation from Bunnings Mindarie of the black-coated posts.
And a big thank you to Lana and Colin for rolling up their sleeves and helping with the work on both Saturday and Sunday. 👏
Our Club exists because of volunteers. People giving their time, skills and contacts is what allows us to keep improving the Club without placing the full cost on our members.
It has been a very productive weekend, and the new fence is another great improvement to our Club. 💪
Thank you to everyone involved — your contribution is genuinely appreciated. ❤️⛵

What a fantastic day on the water! Today our instructors signed off all 5 students in Start Sailing 1 (SS1). 🎉👏
A huge congratulations to our five sailors — you’ve worked hard, taken on the challenges and, most importantly, had plenty of fun along the way! ⛵😎

⛵ SS1 Training Course This Sunday
As we have an SS1 Start Sailing training course this Sunday, all members are still very welcome at the Club. With the safety boat on the water, it’s also a great opportunity for members to get out for a sail, enjoy the Club, or lend a hand with some of those little jobs around the place — tidying up, maintenance and general club tasks are always appreciated.
While the SS1 course is underway, however, we ask everyone to please allow our instructors to focus on the participants and run the course without interruption.
Our instructors have a program to follow and, importantly, are responsible for the safety and supervision of the people they are teaching.
Thanks everyone for helping us keep the Club welcoming, active and safe while allowing our instructors to do their job. ⛵🌊

⛵ HUGE THANK YOU TO BUNNINGS! 🔨

A big thank you to Bunnings for generously donating the fence posts to help repair Sun City Yacht Club’s storm-damaged boundary fence.

With fence panels and concrete also donated by another supporter, we now have everything we need — just plenty of volunteer work ahead! 💪

Community support like this makes a huge difference to our volunteer-run club.

⛵ START SAILING IS UNDERWAY! 🌊
Our latest Start Sailing course kicked off today at Sun City Yacht Club — and there are certainly no fair-weather sailors in this group! 💨🌥️
Despite the challenging conditions, everyone got involved, launched the boats and started building their sailing skills out on the water. A fantastic effort from our new sailors. 👏⛵
A big thank you to our instructors and volunteers Shelly, Edward, Toon & Angelise for giving their time and sharing their knowledge.
This is what grassroots sailing is all about — learning new skills, having a go and enjoying the water together.
