SPECIALTY WORKSHOP SERIES | RHYTHMS OF SALSA 🔥

This Saturday we continue our end-of-term Specialty Workshop Series at Dance Mambo, a space to slow things down, go deeper, and really understand the why behind your dancing 🧠✨

Rhythms of Salsa is all about connecting what you HEAR with how you MOVE! 🎶💃🏽

Through live drumming and music, we’ll explore the rhythms, grooves and musical influences of Son, Rumba and Pachanga, how they connect to Mambo and how to bring their unique flavour into your dancing! 🔥

We’ll focus on:

🥁 Understanding Salsa rhythms & musical layers
👣 Exploring step variations for each rhythm
🎶 Feeling the groove through live drumming
💃🏽 Bringing musicality into your dancing

We’re very excited to have DJ Pizza & DJ El Padrino behind the decks, keeping the floor moving and the vibes high all night long! 🎧💥

This night is all about bringing our community together, amazing performances from Dance Mambo teams + special guest performers, a complimentary workshop, plenty of social dancing, great DJs, a beautiful venue and a bar for those mid-dance refreshments 🍸✨

🔬 FOCUS LAB: VIDEO PROJECT 🎥

Our next Focus LAB is a little different… this time, we’re taking the training from the studio to the camera! ✨

Over 4 Saturdays, we’ll work through a guided choreography designed to develop and elevate your styling, body movement & musicality, with structured training, focused drills and plenty of attention to detail.

The goal isn’t just to learn choreography 💃🏻
It’s to use it as a tool to refine your movement, build confidence and develop your own expression and performance quality.

And of course… we’ll bring it all together with a video project at the end! 🎬🔥

What makes each dance different is the person dancing it ✨

The last couple of terms, we’ve been focusing on creating smoother transitions between shines and partnerwork (among others concepts), giving our students the confidence to move more freely and make the dance their own. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing here 😍

We’re incredibly proud of everyone’s progress, commitment and consistency throughout the term 👏

Be honest… when the DJ plays a Cha Cha, do you jump on the floor… or wait for the next salsa? 😏🎶

For many dancers, Cha Cha can feel unfamiliar or intimidating. But once you understand its timing, groove and playful character, it quickly becomes one of the most fun dances on the social floor.

In this workshop we’ll focus on:
