🎸🎤 Two sides of Nirvana🤘🙂

Saturday night was all about Nirvana at the RSL Devonport, bringing back plenty of memories from the teenage years 📝📻

I really liked the way they split the night into two sets — starting with an unplugged set inspired by Nirvana’s iconic MTV Unplugged in New York performance before bringing out the amps and going electric for the second half 🎸⚡

It was great to hear so many Nirvana songs again, it’s been far too long, got the old CD’s out the next day 🤣🖤🎶

🍻 Cascade Brewery 🕍

Really enjoyed this 1½-hour tour of Cascade Brewery. Our friendly guide was incredibly informative and clearly passionate about the history of Cascade, which made the tour all the more interesting. 😊

We finished with a tasting paddle afterwards, sitting back and enjoying the view across to the brewery — a lovely way to finish the experience. 🍻

We didn’t have enough time to stay for food this visit, but after seeing the beautiful gardens, we’ll definitely be back to spend an afternoon there with some food and drinks. 🌿

A really enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours in Hobart. 😊

It’s been around 10 years since our last visit to MONA 🚗

It’s certainly an interesting place and there’s always something that makes you stop, look twice and wonder exactly what you’re looking at 😳

Like so many places these days, there was another app to download to access tickets for some areas. We decided to give that part a miss, which meant we didn’t quite get to see everything — although considering how often we managed to get lost inside, I’m not entirely sure we saw everything we were supposed to anyway! 🤣

Definitely worth a look and it’s fantastic that it is free for Tasmanian’s 💚

Are you keen for one of our 2026 medals featuring the carving from the historic Ross Bridge, but unable to join us on the 20th September? You can still get involved by registering for our virtual event.

Do you have to complete the Virtual run on the 20th September? NO, you can complete your chosen distance anytime between Sunday 13th September and Saturday 31st October 2026.

Can I do any distance in any location virtually? YES, you can pick your preferred distance and location to complete your event.

Will I receive a medal? YES, medals will be posted each Monday from the 14th September through to the 2nd November.

Can I purchase a custom pink bib for the Virtual event? YES, you can purchase a customised Pink Bib, with all funds raised donated to the Pink Supporters. Your customised bib will be posted with your medal.

Can I get my medal engraved? YES, those entering will receive a link to request engraving on your medal prior to it being posted. You can have your name, event distance and time engraved on your medal prior to sending for just $10.00.

How do I submit my results? ONLINE. Results can be submitted using the following form. Updated results will be uploaded to the Ross Running website each Monday through to the 2nd of November. Link to submit results https://forms.gle/e3hTeHMBzsNvZKNp9

Made our way to Hobart this weekend especially for the first Hobart glow run which was a hoot and we matched up our puzzle piece from Devonport with the possibility there is at least 4 more puzzle pieces to collect… maybe? 🤣🧩🏅

🎇🌈 WOW… WHAT A TURNOUT! 🌈🎆

Our largest NewStars Elite team yet at a completely sold-out Glow Run! What an awesome night and what a team to share it with 🥰

So incredibly proud of all 15 members of Team NSE who rugged up and braved a cold winter’s night to get out there and have some fun 👏🏼🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Every person had their own little story behind their run — some taking part for the very first time, some returning after a long time away, our youngest at just 3 years old, some who had already trained hard that morning, some who were simply there to GLOW… and one who arrived very late for his race but still went out and smashed it! 😆🌟

That’s what made this team so great — 15 different reasons for being there, but everyone out there doing it together 💙

A huge thank you to the organisers for putting together such a fun event and for all the entertainment, food and atmosphere that came with it 🍕🥁🤡🤹‍♀️🥳

And an even bigger thank you to Team NSE for showing up, supporting each other and making nights like this so much fun. Couldn’t be prouder or more grateful for this crew 🥰✨

We know a few more people would have loved to join us before it sold out, so next year we’re getting in early — registrations are already open! 🎆🏃‍♀️
