The all or nothing mindset keeps you trapped in the same behaviours. You cant build consistency if you give up the moment you cant do something perfectly.

You miss a workout, write off the week and promise to start again Monday. You eat something you hadn’t planned and decide you’ve blown it, so you may as well keep going.

You focus on what went wrong and forget there are still things you can do to help yourself.

A shorter workout still counts. An easy dinner can still nourish you. A weekend away doesn’t make your efforts during the week pointless.

You build consistency by learning how to keep going when your routine changes. Give yourself credit for what you do, even when it’s less than you planned.

Where does the all or nothing mindset show up most for you, training or food?

Now I’m big on strength training for reasons that have nothing to do with aesthetics, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to use strength training to change the shape of your body.

In fact, there’s a whole sport built around it. Bodybuilding 😆

When I first started going to the gym back in 2004, I told my trainer I didn’t want to train my back because I already had a “swimmer’s back” and didn’t want it getting any wider.

Funny how things change, because now I LOVE the shape my back gives my body.

Building your lats (the big muscles on either side of your back) can help create the illusion of a smaller waist by adding more width to your upper body.

And this single arm lat pulldown is one of my favourite exercises for doing just that.

But it’s not just about how your back looks.

Your lats play a big role in pulling movements, helping you bring your arms down and towards your body. They also help with shoulder movement and stability, and can assist with bending your torso sideways.

Adding a little lateral flexion (side bending) to this exercise allows you to train through a slightly different range of motion while keeping the focus on your lats.

So yes, I train my back because I want to be strong, but I also happen to love the shape it gives me. And there’s nothing wrong with both!

How often do you hear fitness coaches talk about the “all or nothing mindset” but don't actually realise you're doing it because you've never connected those words to your own behaviours?

After 15 years of training and coaching women, I can tell you this is one of the most common things I see.

So many women believe they need to do everything perfectly to get results.

They miss a workout and feel like they've failed.

They eat something that wasn't planned and decide they've fu**ed up their whole day.

They only have 30 minutes to train, so they don't bother because it's not enough.

And then they wonder why they struggle to stay consistent.

But here's the thing...

It's not the missed workout or the piece of cake that's holding you back.

It's what you do AFTER it.

You don't need perfect weeks to get results.

You need to learn how to keep going when things don't go to plan.

Because doing SOMETHING will always get you further than giving up because you couldn't do EVERYTHING.

Be honest, how many of these behaviours did you recognise in yourself?

You plan to train 5 days.

By Thursday, you’ve completed 2 sessions, life has gone to s**t and you decide you’ve failed for the week.

This is exactly why 3 gym sessions can be better than 5.

Not because 3 is a magic number, but because a program you can complete consistently will get you further than one that constantly makes you feel behind.

Inside Start Strong, you can choose a structured 3, 4 or 5 day gym program that fits your actual life.

You’ll also have coaching, nutrition support and a community of women helping you keep going when your week doesn’t go to plan.

We start on 12 October.

7 days to go until START STRONG kicks off 💪🏾

Imagine in 6 weeks time…

You feel confident knowing when to increase your weights.

You’ve lifted heavier across your exercises and can finally SEE the progress you’re making.

You’re no longer second guessing what you’re doing in the gym because you’ve spent 6 weeks following a structured program, with a coach supporting you and a community of women cheering you on 🥳

You’ve got more energy because you’ve stopped relying on coffee to get you through the morning and learned how to eat in a way that actually supports your training and your goals.

This can be you when you join my 6 week START STRONG program.

This is NOT a challenge where you restrict food for 6 weeks, chase a quick result and have your before and after photos plastered all over the internet.

This IS a proper coaching program where you learn the skills and build the habits you need to create a sustainable routine with your training and nutrition.

And I WILL NOT be running START STRONG again anytime soon.

My coaching packages usually require a 12 week commitment, but I understand that committing to 12 weeks of coaching can feel like a big step when you’ve never worked with me before.

So START STRONG gives you 6 weeks to experience what proper coaching and support actually looks like.

You’ll get your training program, nutrition support, weekly coaching calls, education, accountability and a community behind you for the entire 6 weeks.

Then when the 6 weeks are over, you won’t be wondering “what do I do now?”

You’ll have the knowledge, confidence and habits to keep going.

We start 12 October.

Doing a different workout every week can feel productive.

New exercises. New machines. A few movements you saved from Instagram.

But if you never repeat anything, it’s hard to know whether you’re actually getting stronger.

Keeping the same main exercises gives you the chance to improve your technique, complete more reps and gradually lift more weight.

You don’t need to shock or confuse your muscles.

You need to give yourself enough time to get better.

This is why Start Strong gives you a structured gym program to follow for 6 weeks, with a choice of training 3, 4 or 5 days.

No walking into the gym and making it up as you go.

We start on 12 October. Comment START and I’ll send you the details.

Imagine walking into the gym, opening your app and knowing exactly what to do. You’re not scrolling Instagram looking for a workout. You have a structured program from your coach.

You can see each exercise, how many sets and reps to complete and the weight you used last time.

You finish your session knowing what you trained and what to work on next time because you tracked your weights in my app.

You reach out to me for support when you’re struggling and don’t fall into the same all or nothing mindset.

There’s a community of women supporting you and celebrating all your wins with you.

Start Strong is my 6 week online strength training and nutrition program for women who:

✅ Have a gym membership but lack confidence using it
✅ Make their workouts up as they go
✅ Keep using the same weights because they are unsure when to increase them
✅ Want to build strength but do not know where to start
✅ Are tired of falling into the all or nothing cycle

Based on your schedule and capacity, there’s the option of 3, 4 or 5 day programs.

You will also receive exercise demonstrations, a 30 minute consultation to map out a nutrition strategy, weekly group coaching calls, nutrition education, recipes and access to our private community for support.

Comment START and I’ll send you the details.
