✨ Tummy Time Tuesday with Rory ✨
Today Rory has been working hard on his assisted leg pushes and little “worm crawls” along the bed with Mum 💪🐛
These movements might look simple, but they’re doing some big things for his development! Assisted leg pushes help strengthen his lower body muscles, especially through the hips and legs, while also teaching him how to generate force to move forward. The worm crawl is an early form of coordinated movement, helping him connect his upper and lower body while building core strength.
Together, these exercises support:
• Stronger core and postural control
• Improved coordination between arms and legs
• Increased body awareness
• Early movement patterns needed for crawling
All of this is laying the foundation for independent crawling, exploring, and eventually those first steps! 🌱

It’s Tummy Time Tuesday with Rory! Watch him practice eye tracking and assisted rolling with mum in a safe, supportive environment. Controlled tummy time helps develop core strength, coordination, and motor skills — the building blocks for confident movement! 💪✨

🤸♀️ In gymnastics, we use our hands almost as much as our feet!
From hanging on bars to crawling, balancing, and supporting our bodies, little gymnasts quickly learn that strong hands are just as important as strong legs.
In Kindergym, activities that build grip strength and coordination help growing bodies in so many ways. When children hang, swing, climb, and hold their body weight, they strengthen the small muscles in their hands, wrists, and arms. This helps develop better control, stability, and confidence in movement.
Grip strength also supports important developmental skills like:
✨ Improved hand–eye coordination
✨ Better control for writing and drawing later on
✨ Stronger shoulders and upper-body stability
✨ Confidence in climbing, swinging, and exploring
Most importantly, our gymnasts build these skills through playful movement and exploration. Every swing, hang, and climb is helping their bodies grow stronger and more coordinated.
💛 Strong hands today help support confident movers tomorrow!
Today Rory had a special helper — his big brother! Together they practiced visual tracking by watching colourful scarves gently float down from above. 👀🌈
Activities like this help babies strengthen their eye muscles and coordination as they follow moving objects, which supports early visual development and focus. Having big brother involved also adds something extra special — social interaction. Hearing his voice, seeing his face, and sharing the moment helps Rory build connection, communication skills, and emotional bonding.
Tummy time doesn’t have to be complicated — a simple game, a sibling, and a few colourful scarves can turn it into a fun learning moment. 💛
👇 Give it a try at home and tell us — does your little one love watching things fall from above?
Today we leveled things up! By placing Rory on a small folded blanket with his feet just dangling to the floor, he has to really engage his core to lift his legs and kick the hanging toys on his wooden A-frame.
✨ On his back: a great starting point! He works on lower ab activation, coordination, and intentional kicking.
✨ On his tummy: more challenge! He has to push through his arms, engage his core, and activate his hip flexors to lift and kick — building strength for rolling, crawling, and future mobility.
This simple elevation adds just enough difficulty to encourage purposeful movement and motor planning while still keeping it fun and playful.
Benefits of this activity:
✔️ Core strengthening
✔️ Hip flexor activation
✔️ Upper body weight-bearing (on tummy)
✔️ Coordination & motor planning
✔️ Sensory exploration
✔️ Builds foundations for rolling & crawling
Small changes = big developmental wins 💪
Save this to try during your next tummy time session!
Kindergym Week 3 was full of energy and smiles! 🤸♀️✨
This week we practiced lots of jumping and balancing, sorted through our sea creatures and coloured coral, worked on our counting skills, and enjoyed some wonderful social time with friends. 🐟🐡🔢🌈
Physical activity at this age helps build strong muscles and bones, improves balance and coordination, supports brain development, and boosts confidence. Most importantly, it encourages teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong love of movement.
Rory is working on leg strength by pushing up onto his feet while supporting his weight on a small box — and this simple move is packed with developmental benefits 💪
By bearing weight through his legs, he’s:
• Strengthening hips, thighs, and calves
• Activating his core muscles
• Building balance and body awareness
• Supporting healthy joint development
• Laying the foundation for cruising and those first steps
Tummy time isn’t just about neck strength — it’s full-body work that helps turn little pushes into big milestones 💛👣
