๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™ RESERVES COACH 2027 ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

Please welcome our 2027 Reserves coach Brady Robinson to the Springwood Pumas!

With 20 years in the game as a player and coach, Brady brings a wealth of experience that gets results.

Along with historical family ties to the Pumas, Brady spent three years as Senior Coach at Yeronga, where his sides were regular finals contenders. In his final year at the club, after stepping back from senior coaching, Brady helped lead the reserves to a premiership, the clubโ€™s first in over 19 years.

Known for his energy, enthusiasm and hands-on coaching style, Brady is excited to bring his past experience and fresh ideas to a club with incredible standards and values.

โ€œI canโ€™t wait to get to work with a new playing group and push for a successful 2027 campaignโ€

The Springwood Puma family warmly welcomes Brady, his wife Megan & their 2 kids Noah & Imogen.

๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™ THANK YOU, KEN ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

The club would like to to thank Ken Groves his time and dedication to the role of Club Secretary for the last 15 years.

A successful football club takes all types of people. It needs those that are prepared to be the face and lead from the front, but also needs it's servants who find their strength in a supporting role. For us, Grovesy has been that man.

The self-described "wingman" of Andrew Hickman during his presidency, Ken kept things humming at the club and was instrumental in the success we have seen both in our Senior football program and committee stability over his tenure. A confidant and champion of those around him, Grovesy has been rock for all involved with the Springwood Pumas.

Thank you for your service to the Springwood Pumas, Ken. Looking forward to seeing you around the club, enjoying the fruits of you hard work for years to come.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› THANK YOU, ANDREW ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

After 20 years at the helm, Andrew Hickman has decided the time is right to step down from his position as Club President, leaving an incredible legacy in his wake. Four Premierships. Seven grand finals. A countless number of young men and their families' lives shaped by his influence.

Wandering into Springwood in the early 2000s with wife Janette and son Connor - he was just a young husband and father looking for a football club that would be a home on the weekend for his family. What he found and what he helped to build was somewhere that other families now call home too.

By the end of 2006, Andrew's love for the club had grown so much that he decided to put his hand up to take on the newly vacant role of Club President.

It wasn't going to be an easy job. The club wasn't in the same shape it is now - struggling both on and off the field. But Andrew, alongside a few key others was determined to turn our fortunes around.

Twenty years on, a multitude of people have helped to take that club to the ultimate success four times on the field and create stability off it. But any team needs a leader. To lead a team through a true "rags to riches story", as ex-Captain Mark Thompson put it, takes determination, commitment and a whole lot of love. Andrew has all that in spades.

Whether it was the 100 point beltings in the early days, breaking the Premiership Drought in 2014 and going back to back a year later, or the times we fell agonisingly short in a Grand Final, or when he got to usher in the Junior footballers his journey began with to their first Senior Premiership in 2021 - Andrew's been there for it all. The early mornings and late nights. Whether he was working through the hard times or celebrating the good ones... his heart was beating true for the gold and the blue.

Thank you for everything you and your family have given us, Pres. We love you. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Congratulations to these two Puma legends who walked away from last night's AFL Queensland Community Footy Awards with a bit of silverware!

Well done gents! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿฅ‡ LIFE MEMBERS ๐Ÿฅ‡

On Saturday 3rd October 2026, we announced two new Life Members of the Springwood Football Club: Rowan and Margaret Page.

What more could be said about Rowan? 4x Premiership Player. 2x Premiership Captain. 4x League Best & Fairest. 5x Club Best & Fairest. 2023 Grand Final Best on Ground. The list goes on. This year Rowan reached another milestone many don't get near - 200 Senior Games, which automatically qualifies him for Life Membership.

However, his service to the club goes far beyond that on the playing field. A member of the Senior Football committee, Pumas Past and Present Committee, organised countless club and player functions, fundraisers. This year he took on a line group coaching role. A bloke who will simply fill any gap he sees. "It's easy to play football and help out for a club you love" were his words upon accepting this induction.

But just as he was about to take his seat... he was asked to stay to present the next Life Member badge to none other than his mother, Margaret Page.

Margaret is part fabric of our football Club. As mother she bought her boys to play at Springwood as juniors. Now two have held the honour of Senior Captain. Through the junior years she'd be at the club or away on the road trips volunteering with a Ground Marshal vest or first aid bib on. She still does the Home and Away games board every week to let people know where every Junior and Senior game is. Fruit and muffins at half-time (which still happens every week in Senior footy!). Every Thursday night she puts on a feed for the Senior boys alongside Jan Wallin with her world famous baked goods. Not because she has to. But because she loves the Club, the players and the community.

Safe to say, there wasn't a dry eye in the house when Rowan and Margaret got to share the stage for the highest honour a football club can offer.

Congratulations Rowan and Margaret and thank you for everything you have given and continue to give our Club. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿฅ‡ PRESIDENT'S AWARD ๐Ÿฅ‡

Congratulations to Josh Sutton, recipient of the 2026 President's Award, selected and chosen by Club President Andrew Hickman.

On top of his stellar 2026 on-field season, this legendary clubman continued to give back to the Pumas off of it. Already a member of the Senior Football Committee and Pumas Past and Present Committee, Josh stepped up in his roles to also handle player registrations this season which can only be described as a mostly thankless, but incredibly important task!

Even with this new responsibility, Josh still worked hard to drive fundraising efforts for the club including our 10c Containers For Change, Senior Meat Tray raffles and $10K Draw ticket sales to name a few. Juggling all this, as well as playing quality football and being a young father alongside his partner Hannah (thank you for your support, too!) is a feat that deserves recognition. One the ultimate club people you will come across.

Thank you as always for your service, Sutto! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿฅ‡STEWART STINTON AWARD ๐Ÿฅ‡

Congratulations to Scott "Scooter" Mapperson who was the recipient of this year's Stewart Stinton Senior Club Person award, presented by the Stinton Family on behalf of our beloved mate Stewy who passed away this year.

Having played over 230 games both as a Junior and Senior club member, Scooter has already firmly established himself as a servant of the Springwood Pumas. A Best & Fairest Winner and Finals MVP for the Reserves in their 2025 Premiership Year, we all know Scotty can do it on the field.

But this year, when the Club was in need off the field, he stepped up and took on the challenging role of Club Treasurer to support the committee as they began to transition new members. No-one asked, he just wanted to give back and help those whose endless generosity allowed him to enjoy his playing career to this point - all while he was pushing for - and was rewarded with - Senior selection for much of the year. People like Scooter and Stewy are what makes a community footy club like Springwood so special.

Thank you for everything, Scott. Congratulations. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿฅ‡ RESERVES COACH'S AWARD ๐Ÿฅ‡

Congratulations to Zac Mitchell for taking out this season's Reserves Coach's Award!

Another member of our 2025 Premiership side, Zac Mitchell has gone from strength to strength in his last few years of footy. A pressure machine that's composed with ball in hand, Zac often finds his magnet thrown around the board and accepts the challenge whether he's on a forward flank, running off half back or chasing the footy up and down the wing.

A theme of this year's awards was definitely positive attitude. As mentioned by 1/3 Reserves Coach Daniel Schmidt, it's easy for a player to become frustrated playing out of their preferred position, but players like Zac are a pleasure to coach because they accept and adapt to whatever role the coach needs them to play at that point in time.

A much loved player and person of our club - well done Zaccy on another great year! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘
