🐴 EVAS (Emily's Veterinary Acupuncture) IS COMING TO GOLD COAST EQUINE CLINIC 🐴
From September 2026, Emily’s Veterinary Acupuncture Service will be practising from Gold Coast Equine Clinic on the fourth Wednesday of every month, bringing veterinary acupuncture, prolotherapy and integrated musculoskeletal care to horses across the Gold Coast!
Dr Emily Kaminski graduated as a veterinarian in 2011 and became accredited in Veterinary Acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 2014. She established EVAS in 2016 and has focused exclusively on equine and canine patients since 2019, helping manage injury recovery, athletic performance, chronic discomfort and degenerative conditions.
Each initial consultation includes:
• Comprehensive static body assessment
• Acupuncture gait analysis performed at the walk
• Individualised acupuncture treatment
• Dextrose prolotherapy treatment as clinically indicated, including spinal treatment when appropriate
• Light sedation when required
• A full one-hour appointment
✨ INTRODUCTORY PRICE: $250 PER HORSE
Follow-up appointments will be tailored to each horse’s treatment requirements, with prices at $200.
✨ MULTIPLE-HORSE SPECIAL FOR 2026✨
Book two or more horses belonging to the same owner and receive each additional horse’s consultation for just $150.
This promotional rate will remain available for EVAS clinic days throughout the remainder of 2026.
Veterinary chiropractic techniques will begin being incorporated into suitable appointments from late October as Dr Emily completes her veterinary chiropractic training. There will be no additional chiropractic charge during the introductory period.
Appointments will be conducted at GCEC’s purpose-built Advancetown facility, providing access to:

Appointments will be available from 8:00 am, with the final initial consultation commencing at 4:00 pm.

Shoulder joint fusion case study:
Last September 3 year old mini pony Coco became lame, she quickly got more and more painful, struggling to bear weight on the leg.
Nerve blocks and x-rays were taken and the lameness was pin pointed to the shoulder. Coco’s shoulder was found to be mal-positioned in the joint - she had shoulder dysplasia and subluxation with associated osteoarthritis. 🦴
With pain relief and confinement not having an effect on her comfort a more drastic option needed to be considered. The shoulder joint needed to be stabilized as every time she moved the bone was not sitting properly within the socket. This meant surgery was the only option for Coco, she required total fusion of her shoulder joint. This is called an Arthrodesis. 🧷 🦴
Coco’s amazing owners took her up to UQ Gatton. The fantastic team here performed a highly specialised surgery involving a plate and 10 screws, connecting her scapula to her humerus. She went home 1 week later to rest and recuperate. Her recovery was not without challenges and it took her some time to get used to how to use her leg.
Gentle walking exercise was started and gradually she got used to how to move her leg.
At 8 months post-op Coco now runs around her paddock with her best friend Dusty, a limp barely noticeable.
We think Coco is the bravest luckiest pony, we are thrilled to see her doing so well. ❤️🐴
