I was feeling a bit weird doing a standalone post simply because it's pride month - to be honest I think we should be showing up as allies, support networks and safe spaces all year round.
But then I reflect on my own experiences and I think taking this opportunity may not be such a bad idea. Representation absolutely matters. Just reiterating that fitness spaces such as mine are all about getting you to be who you are, show up as you are and be celebrated just as you are. So I am taking this occasion I just want to say all q***r folk are welcome and celebrated here. ❤️
Happy pride folks! Let's keep celebrating and supporting all year round.

So it's been a bit quiet on my end. This month I have had food poisoning (with a sneaky come back!), and right now I am battling the flu, infection in my gums/teeth and now I think it's conjunctivitis in my right eye.
My immune system is s**t. I have theories but will be investigating this further.
But yeah, that's why it's been quiet. I have been trying very hard to just survive ATM. Hopefully I resurface again soon

Just a reminder that however you move your body today is valid.
You're not a better person for running a marathon compared to going for a short walk. Both of these exercises bring benefits to you and suit you depending on your abilities, resources and energy level.
There is no right or wrong way to exercise. Just your way.

Getting started can be tough. What advice would you give to your beginner self when it comes to movement and exercise?
I'd tell myself that there is no "beginning", just different forms and intensities.

I really have enjoyed my time as president of but it is time for me to step down.
I know of so many folks on this platform who I think would do such a stellar job as the next President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Feel free to send me a DM if you want to know more about my experiences. I am also really proud that this term we have the first opportunity to have people with lived experience (ordinary members) to lead the organisation into its next phase. 🥂🥂

Not one of my clients's journey has been the same as the other. Sure there are common questions, feelings and themes, but everyone is unique - so that's what their exercise should reflect.

I did a spin class today for the first time in years. I did 20 minutes, enjoyed myself and stopped.
Later old diet culture thoughts started creeping up. Thoughts like I should have gone harder, or longer and that I only did 20 minutes.
But I did 20 minutes. I gave something a go. I moved my body. I got my head rate up. I felt great. And because I respected my body and the process you can bet I'll go back again!
