Week 2 of our 200HR YTT and we begin diving deeper into the foundations behind the practice.
This weekend we explore anatomy through movement — understanding the body more intelligently as we moved through twists, hip openers, and the progression into binds. Learning not just what the posture looks like… but why we move the way we do.
As the practice evolves, so does the refinement. More awareness. More precision. More intentionality in the way we teach and move.
We also started unpacking one of the most important skills of a teacher — cueing. The art of communication. Our secret cueing formula that helps students feel, embody, and experience the posture beyond simply “doing” it.
This is where the practice starts to deepen. Not just physically — but intellectually, energetically, and emotionally.
Intention → Motivation → Evolution. ✨

If this part of the flow feels messy…
it’s usually not a strength problem.
It’s a clarity problem.

Strong vinyasa isn’t choreography.
It’s progression.

✨ Part 4 of The Sanctuary of MOVE Yoga’s Design: An Oasis of Light & Space ✨
MOVE Yoga is a true oasis tucked away behind the bustling Flinders Lane, nestled in a quiet courtyard at the back of an offshoot laneway. Here, the warmth of blonde timber and the stillness of open space come together to create a calming atmosphere. The natural light that pours in from the laneway fills the space with a serene glow, perfectly complementing the striking contrast between the high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling steel-framed doors.
These dark, bold steel doors serve as a powerful frame to enter the yoga class, creating a striking contrast to the expansive, open space inside. The design bridges the city’s industrial aesthetic with the softness of its interiors, where raw concrete meets refined finishes. The wide, open spaces invite a sense of freedom, while the clean lines and high ceilings elevate the atmosphere, allowing the space to breathe and flow.
MOVE Yoga was intentionally crafted to harmonise the energy of the surrounding city with an escape into tranquility. Every detail, from the interplay of natural light to the purposeful choice of materials, enhances the sense of openness, creating a space where stillness can coexist with connection.

✨ Part 3 of The Sanctuary of MOVE Yoga’s Design: Minimalist Beauty, Maximum Impact ✨
Our purpose-built change rooms sit at the heart of the studio, creating a seamless flow where movement feels natural. Designed to eliminate confusion, they allow for effortless transitions—arrive, refresh, and move left or right to your desired space with ease.
At MOVE Yoga, simplicity is powerful. Clean lines, soft tones, and natural textures set the stage for an aesthetic that feels both calming and intentional. Blonde timber floors and warm pine paneling throughout create a sense of depth and continuity, blending function with beauty.
The minimalist design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about crafting an atmosphere where energy flows effortlessly. The soft grain of the pine paneling adds warmth, while the open space amplifies clarity and connection. A sanctuary where less truly becomes more.

Part 2 of The Sanctuary of MOVE Yoga’s Design ✨ A Space That Breathes With You ✨
Every detail of MOVE Yoga—from the rich timber floorboards to the soft, ambient lighting—has been meticulously chosen to create a space that flows with your practice. The gentle light spilling in from Melbourne’s iconic Flinders Lane enhances the feeling of openness, bringing a sense of calm and connection with each breath you take.
The studio was designed with balance in mind, reflecting the yogic principle of Sthira Sukham: the perfect blend of strength and softness.
The sturdy, grounding elements of the space, like the warm timber and the clean lines of the design, provide stability, while the flowing, organic textures and natural light create an atmosphere of ease and tranquility.
Together, they form an environment that supports both your physical strength and inner calm, allowing you to truly sink into your practice.
