It’s Friday so date night for many. First date nerves can be self sabotaging. Remind yourself of your worth and while you’re at it, remind yourself, ‘it’s just a date’. Many people say no to opportunities to get to know someone a bit better because of the fear of ‘leading someone on’. A date isn’t a commitment to anything more than, ‘I’m curious and would like to get to know you a bit more’. Go have fun being curious and playful and excited at the potential to connect with another. And ... if you don’t connect, you’ve had a new experience and valuable opportunity to practice dating and kicking those first date nerves to the curb.

Every ‘no’ in dating is not a verdict on your worth. It’s information.

It simply means: not aligned, not the right timing, not the right fit etc. However, if you make it something about you, you start to lower your self-worth and slowly close the door that needs to be open. ❤️

You can’t heal while your nervous system still believes you’re unsafe.

So many people try to “fix” themselves while living in survival mode, constantly anxious, overwhelmed, hyper-vigilant, people pleasing, shutting down, or emotionally exhausted.

But healing doesn’t begin with pressure.
It begins with safety. When the body finally feels safe, the mind softens, the heart opens, and true healing can begin.

Safety isn’t weakness, it’s the foundation. ❤️

Rejection in dating is rarely what we think it is. Most people are not rejecting your worth, they are responding to compatibility, timing, preferences, personal history, making inaccurate assumptions, their past experiences, or their own internal filters.

The problem starts when we make someone else’s “no” mean, “I’m not good enough.” And then allowing that story to dictate every future interaction or connection.

Most people assume rejection in dating means something about their worth. However in reality, most “no’s” are not personal.

They are quick decisions based on:
• limited information
• personal history
• preferences
• timing
• and internal filters you are unlikely to be aware of

When you stop personalising rejection, you stop the negative spiral. And then, everything in dating begins to change. ❤️

It takes discipline to quieten the negative ego in our head. That voice that says you’re not good enough, not worthy enough, not pretty enough, not successful enough, not thin enough, not rich enough, not funny enough, not tall enough, not strong enough, not smart enough, not clever enough, not … fill in the blank!

If you believe nothing else today, please believe this. You ARE worthy and you ARE enough. Make this voice louder to soothe your nervous system allowing you to be a little more at peace to start the real work of deeper healing to move to greater self-love ❤️.
