*EDIT: APRIL FOOLS! Strangely enough, there is no Angel Hernandez Umpire School (yet) and we don't think April's Folley Community College has a large enough baseball complex... BUT on a serious note Kris is hoping to attend umpire school in the next few years!

It has taken a few months of negotiations, but we are proud to announce that our own Kris Keeping has been accepted to advance his umpire training in the USA!

As part of the funding agreement, we will also be sending a tutor to work at the umpiring school, with Ian "Rev" Reval being selected. The provision of an experienced instructor offsets the enrolment cost and allows for both to attend, only needing to cover flight costs.

We are certain the staff and students of the Angel Hernandez Umpiring School will be grateful to have both of them attending the 5 week program, held at the grounds of April's Folley Community College in Wyoming in October.

Wow! Over the double header round on Saturday we had THREE Men's State League Division 1 plate debuts!

A huge congratulations to both Mina and Karen, who shared the two div 1 games at Glenelg as they hosted East Torrens (and GBC's ladies day).

Also, big ups to our almost-silent assassin, Niamh, who took the div 1 plate as Henley & Grange visited West Torrens.

Well done to all!

Our first meeting for 2026!

630pm for pizza and softies, followed by our usual high quality discussions, questions, and debates!

Not-so-fun fact: we're halfway through the season and did you know we've lost 3 umpires since October? Due to various work/study/family commitments our numbers have dropped and we need new recruits to step up and give back to the game!

Come along tomorrow night and take the first step. You'll make a whole new network of friends talking about the crazy plays we've seen, and find a completely different perspective of the game to enjoy!
