There was some great displays of Judo and no shortage of competitors, which is a great sign for grass roots Judo.

A big thank you to the volunteers and organisers + also to Calem and Liam for assisting with referring.

Following next Saturdays MONster JUDO competition at Kazoku Judokan, there will be a BBA catch up at the Crown Inn.

Whether you last put the belt on 2 days ago, or 20 years ago, if you’re a South Australian Judo Black Belt, you’re welcome! Of course friends and family are also more than welcome as well.

If you have the time, begin the day by heading in to watch the Monster Judo Competition and show your support for the next generation of judoka.

A great morning of Judo at the Goshin Judo Kan Adelaide Junior Open event, with some massive throws, and fierce competition with great sportsmanship.

A special congratulations to Calem, Luna, Yuhe and Arley who were each awarded the ‘most outstanding player’ in their respective divisions, and also to Hugo who made his competition debut 💪

Thanks to the event organisers for a great event, to Calem and Liam for helping coach and mentor our junior competitors and of course of loyal cheer squad of parents.

A not to be missed opportunity for South Aussie judoka when 9th Dan, and IJF hall of famer, Neil Adam’s, visits Adelaide.

Visiting all the way from the UK, Neil is two time Olympic medalist and an official commentator for Judo at the Olympic Games.

Without doubt, this is the best investment a judoka can make on themselves this year.

On Sunday we took a young team to the Kodokan event, hosted by Seacliff Judo Club.

It was a great event, with everyone getting match ups against players from different clubs.

Savannah, Yuhe, Luna, Patrick and Hudson all won gold medals, Eddy and Dusty won silver medals, and Arley & Matilda finished in third place!

There was a lot of great throws, but more importantly great listening, supporting each other and great sportsmanship.

Thanks to the event organisers for a great event!

Matilda scored a silver medal 🥈 and Savannah won bronze🥉 Ross had three great fights in his first ever comp, throwing each of his opponents. He also was selected as a prize winner, for his great effort 💪

We covered pummelling into a double under position, hit the O Uchi Gari > passing closed guard > a submission from kesa and an option if you force the turtle position 💥
