We were delighted to have Graham "Lurch" Matthews at the 1st XI game yesterday. Lurch has had a massive influence at both Vermont South and Bulleen Templestowe and rightfully we play for the Graham Matthews Shield whenever the 1st XI of both clubs meet.

In a thrilling finish yesterday the Vermont South 1st XI held onto the shield. Chasing 193 for victory, the Vultures found themselves 7/98. Determined and patient batting by Steve Staddon, Tom Sudano, Tharindu Rudrigu, and a timely boundary by Zac Hanlen got the Vultures over the line.

Thanks Lurch for your contribution to both clubs and to cricket in general.
