After a disappointing end to the 2025 season, our League girls vowed to bounce back and get back on top for 2026. Through hard work, persistence & teamwork, we see them back fighting for yet another League Premiership.
The girls are no stranger to the pressure and magic of finals, and know that it is going to take their very best netball to challenge Yankalilla League this Saturday. The team has reflected from their Semi Final results, and have been working hard to create new strategies, deeper intensity and more fire ahead of Saturday’s match. Our girls are going out with a ‘nothing to lose’ mentality, with a strong belief in themselves and one another. Our League team thrive when being named as the underdogs, with the term usually sparking an unbelievable and unstoppable fire in each and every one of them. Theres only been one club to upset Yank’s run in the last four seasons, we’ve done it before and you best believe we are ready to do it again.
Di Johns will take the court as GS, and after a best on court performance in the prelim against the GSNA GK of the year, this club stalwart is ready to lift the team on Saturday. Playing in her 15th League grand final for our great club, she knows better than anyone what it takes to win the big games.
In her first season at Victor, Abby Stock will front up at GA in her second consecutive League grand final appearance. Abby is smart, sneaky, and often goes under the radar. Her ability to feed, find space and quietly dominate makes her a threat to any opposition defence line.
Jemma Ekers-Broadbent has continued to settle into her new position of WA, with an exceptional work-rate, impeccable feeding, and the ability to lift the entire team. With the versatility to swing into GA and shoot her long bombs, we known she’s ready for redemption this Saturday.
Mikalea Fraser is coming off an inspirational performance in the prelim and is ready to dominate the middle on Saturday. Her drives, her ability to win ball, and her relentless pressure can completely turn a game and she’s ready to lift the side in C this weekend.
WD Lucy Murch, our game changer. Her relentless pressure and ability to win ball in the clutch moments make her one of the most exciting players to watch in this Victor side. If the game is tight on Saturday, there’s no doubt that Lucy will be the one to rattle the Yank attack line and create the turnovers needed to spark her side.
Club captain Tayla Davis is born for the big games. She’s no stranger to the pressures of Grand Finals and it’s this pressure that she thrives in. She wins ball, she leads from the front, and when the game is tight, she’s the one who’s hands we want the ball to be in. Our club leader is fired up, focused, and ready for a big one.
Jess Pater is undoubtably the most improved player within this Victor League side. We have seen her stand up and put in inspiring performances against some of the biggest and best GS’s of GSNA. Coming off an absolute belter of a prelim game, Jess comes into Saturday’s match with confidence and the fire to lift her team.
Our impact players are the perfect mix of youth and experience, with young guns Jemma Liddell and Jade Pointer ready to make a difference when required. Alicia Montgomerie and Kelly Baldock bring the netball knowledge and the ability to change the game when on.
Lastly, our battered, bruised and big bellied bench. The fact that this side has managed to make a grand final without our three guns Bri Cameron, Eliza Heaslip and Emma Hausler is nothing short of incredible- it just shows the amazing depth and belief in this playing squad. These three are the heart of this team and will be riding every single ball with the girls on Saturday.
