At Y Queensland, creating safe, respectful and inclusive environments for children and young people is at the heart of everything we do.

As part of Safeguarding Week, we’re highlighting how we safeguard children and young people at Y Queensland through education, open conversations and creating environments where every child feels heard, supported and safe.

Throughout the week, our teams will be encouraging meaningful conversations with children and young people about recognising when something doesn’t feel right and the importance of speaking to a trusted adult if they see something, hear something or feel something.

Our coaches and Learn to Swim instructors will also be taking extra time to connect with participants, helping empower young people with the confidence to use their voice and know they are supported.

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, and these conversations reflect our ongoing commitment to keeping children and young people safe and valued every day.
