🍃 Sunday 20th September 🍃

Dee from regularly offers two amazing sessions for children to engage in connection, mindfulness and movement.

🌱 Mini & Me Connection Sessions
For you and your child aged 3-6, these sessions focus on simple yet powerful practices that support emotional regulation and strengthen the bond between caregiver and child. Through mindful movement, breathing exercises, and sensory exploration, we create a space where your child can begin to understand their emotions and learn tools to navigate the world around them.

🌲 Kid’s Mindfulness & Movement Sessions
For children ages 6-12, this session is designed as an immersive experience in which children will be guided through a combination of mindful movement, breath exploration, and simple practices that support emotional awareness and regulation. These sessions are not about “getting it right,” but about creating space for children to connect with their bodies, understand their inner experiences, and feel supported in navigating big feelings.

“Yamas” - the first limb of the yogic-pathway.
The Yamas are our ethics for how we interact with the world.

💫 Brahmacharya 💫
“Brah-ma-cha-r-ya”
Principle of moderating energy use

Traditionally, this fourth principle refers to celibacy or chastity in order to conserve energy - a principle which holds a different energy in its modern day context.

To consider this Yama from a modern approach, it can be interpreted as the “moderation” or “right use” of our energy.

In others words, Brahmacharya guides us to use our energy intentionally, and in a way which serves our wellbeing rather than directing it to external desires.

💫 Brahmacharya on the yoga mat:
• Choosing gentler / more restful practices when feeling drained or unwell
• Going into a depth or variation of a pose that suits your body and intention in that moment , rather than simply pushing yourself “because you can”
• Directing your energy inwards - leaving distracting phones aside and switching off during your practise
• Remembering to bring it back to simplicity - sometimes less is more!

💫 Prompts for self inquiry
• “In what ways am I wasting my energy in my day to day activities?”
• “What practices or daily rituals refill my cup, settle and positively re-direct my energy?”
• “What habits are draining me and my energy?”

Sangha Studio's Conduct & Ethics

At Sangha we believe that Yoga is to be lived on and off the mat. According Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the first limb of the yogic pathway is the “Yamas”, the 5 ethics which inform our interactions with the external environment.

Sangha's code of ethics is in place to promote the safety of each student and ensure they receive the best experience possible.

✨ Ahimsa ~ "non-harming"
• Class numbers are limited.
This ensures personal space is maintained, and the space feels safe. Please consider booking online to secure your mat.
• Please be mindful & aware of both the teachers and other fellow students' personal space and energy before and after class.
This can include voice volume and the nature of conversations.

✨ Satya ~ "truthfulness"
• If you need to leave right as class finishes, please let the teacher know.
We appreciate your honesty. To respect other students please move quietly & mindfully - we will pack up your props.
• Cancel or reschedule if unwell.
Our space is quite confined, so it's important you don't attend class if you have any cold or flu symptoms

✨ Asteya ~ "non-stealing"
• Classes begin and end on time.
Teachers are mindful to not take away from the time dedicated to the practise, nor run overtime to take away from your precious time.
• Please arrive to 5-15mins prior to class start time.
This ensures the class can begin on time. The downstairs door is also often locked once class beings for security and safety purposes.

✨ Brahmacharya ~ "moderation of senses”
• All mobile phones, i-watches, devices etc. are not permitted in the studio space.
If you are medically on call, use devices as a medical aid, or something similar please inform your teacher.
• Please refrain from wearing and applying perfume/cologne and strong deodorants within the studio space.

✨ Aparigraha ~ "non-greed”
• Please refrain from chatting or commenting during class.

This ensures everyone has a chance to focus on their own individual experience, body and breath.

• Please clean all yoga equipment used after every class & put away with care (neat & tidy).
If you require assistance, your teacher will be happy to help.

Dear Beautiful Sangha Community,

As we move gently toward the end of winter, there is a subtle shift beginning to take place. The mornings are still crisp, the nights remain long, yet beneath the surface something is quietly preparing to awaken. Nature reminds us that transformation rarely happens all at once. It unfolds slowly, beneath the soil, unseen, until one day what has been quietly growing reveals itself.

In both yogic philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is never seen as an empty season. It is a season of restoration. A time to replenish what has been depleted. To strengthen our inner reserves. To honour the balance between effort and rest.

Yoga teaches us that life moves in rhythms. Every inhale is followed by an exhale. Every movement is balanced by stillness. Every season of growth is nourished by a season of renewal.

When we allow ourselves to live in harmony with these rhythms rather than resist them, we discover something deeply supportive: rest is not separate from transformation, it is what makes transformation possible.

As we continue through Term 3, we warmly invite you to keep making space for your practice. Whether you join us once a week or several times throughout the term, every class becomes an opportunity to regulate the nervous system, reconnect with yourself, and be held in community. Modern neuroscience now tells us what the ancient yogis intuitively understood: healing happens in relationship. Simply practising together supports our nervous systems to settle, our hearts to open, and reminds us that we were never meant to navigate life alone.

“Your practice is yours and yours alone.

There is no-one to impress, so just enjoy your practice and the process of learning about your body and mind.

Considering that this is your practice focus on the things that you genuinely love.

Don't let guilt, shame, expectation or some other nonsense dictate what you do on the mat”

-Jason Crandell

Sangha Yoga Studio offers a variety of regularly scheduled class types, all of which are varying styles of yoga.

Our class styles currently offered on our timetable are:
🌙 Gentle Hatha
A slow, supportive practice which emphasises gentle movement, breath awareness, and mindful pacing. A most ideal class for beginners, those managing injury or physical limitations, or those who simply seek a grounding experience.

☀️ Dynamic Hatha
A strong, mindful practice that focuses on building strength, stability, and embodied awareness. You can expect to leave feeling energised, balanced and uplifted.

🪷 Yin Yoga
A quiet, contemplative practice that works deeply into the body’s connective tissues. Postures are primarily floor-based, held for longer periods (2-6+ minutes), allowing the body to gentle release.

☯️ Ta***ic Hatha
An integrative practise rooted in classical ta***ic understanding of yoga, offering a balance of movement, breath and stillness. This class is taught exclusively by Josie.

Each of these types aims to cultivate and regulate energy in unique ways. The teachers at Sangha are mindful of teaching practices which are accessible of those with all varying levels of experience in yoga - we welcome everyone from beginners to those with years of experience 🌿

Dear Sangha community,
There are a few changes over the coming weeks that we'd love you to be aware of.

From 22 August to 8 September, Karen will be joining Justine on retreat in Peru, alongside a number of our Sangha community members. During this time, there will be some temporary changes to the timetable, with some beautiful teachers stepping in to support classes while others take a short pause.

These changes are simply part of the natural rhythm of our community.

At Sangha, we believe it's important that our teachers continue to nourish themselves through practice, retreat, learning and rest, just as we encourage our students to do the same. When we take time to fill our own cup, we return with greater presence, energy and capacity to support those around us.

We encourage you to embrace these changes with an open heart. Every teacher brings their own unique gifts while sharing the same intention: to create a welcoming space where you can arrive exactly as you are.

Your continued support of our teachers, our classes and this beautiful community means so much. 🤍

Ta***ic Hatha & Meditation is an integrative practice rooted in the classical ta***ic understanding of yoga — where ta**ra means to weave, and hatha refers to the union of the lunar and solar currents within us.

This class is currently offered exclusively by Josie and currently timetabled on:
✨ Tuesdays 6-7pm
✨ Thursdays 9:30-10:30am

This class offers a balanced exploration of movement, breath, and stillness, guiding practitioners toward energetic harmony and inner clarity. Asana and pranayama are used to purify, stabilise, and prepare the system, creating the conditions for the deeper aim of the practice: meditation.

Classes may move through lunar (restorative), solar (energising), or balanced sequences, yet the intention remains consistent — to cultivate awareness, regulate the nervous system, and arrive naturally in meditation.

This practice invites a conscious integration of effort and ease, body and breath, movement and stillness, supporting both energetic sensitivity and grounded embodiment.

Suitable for beginners through to experienced practitioners, and particularly supportive for those with an interest in meditation and subtle awareness. 🌱

Dear Beautiful Sangha Community,

We hope you've settled gently into the rhythm of winter. 🤍
As the days become quieter and nature turns inward, we're reminded that winter isn't a season to push through. In both Traditional Chinese Medicine and yogic philosophy, winter is a time of restoration, reflection and renewal. A season that reminds us we are part of nature, not separate from it.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is governed by the Water element, connected to the Kidneys and our deepest reserves of vitality. It's a time to conserve energy, honour rest, and replenish ourselves so that when spring arrives, we have the strength to grow once again. 🌊

Yoga teaches us the same. Practice isn't about always doing more. It's about learning to live in harmony with life's natural rhythms. There are seasons to expand, seasons to create, and seasons to soften, reflect and simply be.

Winter asks us to slow down enough to hear ourselves again. It reminds us that rest isn't the opposite of growth, it is part of the cycle that makes growth possible.

As we move into Term 3, we invite you to continue making time for your practice. Whether it's one class each week or several, coming together in community is one of the most supportive things we can do for ourselves. ✨

We know now through neuroscience what yogis have understood for thousands of years: healing happens in relationship. Practising together helps regulate our nervous systems, strengthens our sense of connection, and reminds us that we don't have to navigate life's seasons alone 🌲
