The only constant in life is change.

The one thing I know for certain is the only constant in life is change. The last year has been the biggest lessons in surrender, to not resist and take each step as it unfolds. In trusting the path, of what falls away, who reaches out, offers a hand, and then where we end up if we take it.

In an unexpected turn of events I have found myself in Albury for the time being. More space to grow and to heal, to move slow and being near my beloved mountains and friends.

Tomorrow morning I start back on the mat teaching at the beautiful Ardor on Dean Street in Albury. I come back to this teaching space with new insights and profound understandings of these ancient practices that I would not have gained without the last couple of years of illness.

If you are in Albury or passing through and would like to join the flow, you can book on the Ardor Website

All welcome. Namaste Bec x

PS. I will be coming back to Wagga from time to time. So what this space.

When all else fails trust the yoga.

My dear teacher said this to me early in my training many years ago.

And I do, when life is good I live my life, I don’t practice as often, I just live life, but when I’m lost and distrusting of what’s been presented, I come back to the practices, all these ancient rituals that have been tested over thousands of years. When I overthink what to practice, I do Sun Salutations, simple, effective and lets my body rhythmically move.

Yoga is still the thing that has surprised me most about my life, I never could have foreseen that I would practice yoga, let alone teach yoga.

And in my recent illness, I was the most grateful for these traditions. When I couldn’t move my body, I could meditate, I could still chant, I could journal.

And as I came back to Asana (physical practice), it has been a starting again. A new birth, a new body, a new awareness.

With so much complexity in the world at the moment, the simple Sun Salutations have been my go to for stability, for holding, and returning home.

This Saturday is International Yoga Day and Winter Solstice.

And to honour both I will be hosting 108 Sun Salutations on Sunday at 11am-1pm at Movement Remedies, Wagga Wagga.

I hope you can join me, and celebrate all the gifts these traditions bring us.

*Yoga is not about conforming to other people’s definitions of practice but simply an authentic response to the questions presented by our life, our path. If yoga points at the truth of existence, that very existence must be available to us in every moment, not as a new belief system or a utopia to arrive at in a future life, but something we can touch, maintain, and discover for ourselves.* - Michael Stone

“Sweet Darkness” by David Whyte

When your eyes are tired the world is tired also.
When your vision has gone no part of the world can find you. Time to go into the dark where the night has eyes to recognise its own.
There you can be sure you are not beyond love.
The dark will be your womb tonight.
The night will give you a horizon further than you can see.
You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.
Give up all the other worlds except the one to which you belong.
Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you.
